Camp with PH at Le Mans 24

Camp, get internet access, drink in our bar and have a jolly good time with PistonHeads

Not sleeping well? Feeling a bit odd in the pit of your stomach? Feel the need to sleep in a small tent? That’s the Le Mans excitement taking hold, and it can’t be stopped.

Not feeling this? We prescribe booking a pitch on the PistonHeads Le Mans campsite and getting yourself involved in the greatest race/social event of the year, in fact we insist that you do.

Why camp with us you ask, we’ll try to keep this brief:

-We have site-only Wi-Fi. While relaxing you can post on PistonHeads to your heart's content and show your Facebook friends what they are missing. Internet on a campsite? Who’d have thought it was even possible.

-We have secure fencing around the entire camp, with 24-hour security patrols and access only granted to campers and authorised cars.

-We have private toilets and showers with full-time cleaners on site too. Don’t queue for a dirty shower ever again.

-We have a private marquee with a bar, live coverage of the race, phone charging points and indoor and outdoor seating areas.

-We have team talks where race teams come over and tell us about their set up and host question-and-answer sessions.

-We have fresh daily bread orders with deliveries early every morning (tell us what you want and we’ll get it) and fresh coffee too.

-Our pitches are marked out and reserved. No need to rush, as your pitch will be waiting whenever you arrive. Standard pitches are marked out at 3.5m x 10m and a small number of larger pitches are available at 5m x 10m.

-In addition, we have our own water and waste facilities and, best of all, you know you are camping with other PHers. That means it’s friendly, relaxed and idiot-free.

We have an 11,000 square metre area which will accommodate approximately 160 PH cars. Although we are quite large in grass area, the feeling is relaxed and friendly and you won't be pitched next to someone with a sound-system bigger than the one in your local nightclub.

We think it’s the best camping offer in Le Mans, and as an added bonus you’ll get to meet all of the people behind PH….actually, that’s not much of a bonus at all, but we’ll be there if you fancy a natter over a stubby.

Prices are as follows for the PH private site:

More information is also detailed on this thread

If you fancy camping in a more traditional style while at Le Mans, we also have a few spaces left at various sites around the circuit. As it stands we have a handful of spaces left on Bleu Nord, Bleu Sud and Beausejour. Prices start from £126 pp based on four people in a car travelling by ferry, camping at Beausejour.

Tickets arrived yesterday, can't wait now smile

Will the security be there until Monday or will they scarper on Sunday evening allowing all the riff raff in?

On the PH site, the security agents are there on Monday until everybody has left (including the 1st Tickets crew). We also have night patrols through to Sunday night as well

I will be going next year one way or another. After a car theft and 2 years of messing about it's about time I finally broke my Le Mans virginity.

Sounds good, but its not cheap which is why I've sorted myself out this year. Is there a price without a crossing included, ie. just for the pitch? Would be tempted if its sensible for next year. Bit of a drive for me to Dover and then from Calais to Le Mans when you can catch the ferry 2 minutes away in Poole to Cherbourg! My ferry this year cost £175, then camping in Maison Blanche €82, so its half the price!

Hi Dave, yes we can offer a ticket only price using our "European" pricing which is for camping pitch plus general entry. We also offer bespoke packages that include crossings via Portsmouth and Poole, fi required.

We do have a site plan ( click here), although this is not the final version. Your pitch is indicated by the blue pitch number sticker in your pack.

See you in a couple of weeks!

As there are a few posts about the wifi, I thought I best tell you a little bit more...

There will be a wireless access point in the PH/1st Tickets marquee, which be available to those camping on the site. It will be encrpyted and password protected, with a set maximum of number concurrent users.

This is provided via the ACO and, naturally, there is an implementation and rental cost involved.

Therefore, there will be a charge of just €10 per user for the whole of your stay (This will help us way we can recoup some of the set up costs).

Actually I've been looking at the overall map and trying to reconcile it with my memories from last year. Is the PH camp site in the same spot as last year then or has it moved?

It’s an irrelevant question really but looking at the aerial pic from last year and the plan the shape of the site doesn’t match last year if the bogs and marquee are in the same spot, either that or I can’t interpret a map?!

Hi Robby

You'll note that I am not Brian, but I can tell you that we are in the same spot as last year smile

As the private site is now bigger Brian has stretched the space further into Bleu parking to accommodate the increased capacity. We'll still run up to the road adjacent to the airfield as usual.

Brian will be able to confirm the location of the marquee.
