Is there a delay in getting hold of Porsche approved Michelin Pilot Cups Sports Plus 997.2 GT3 RS tyres (which are slightly different compared to the GT3's) ? Seem to finding it tricky to source them at present. Is there a bunch of people hoarding and speculating on them or it just my imagination smile Want a new set as the track session cranks up as a few circuits worth will wear my woefully low tread out soon.

I'm having to wait for Costco to get PS2s direct from the European warehouse (which I presume is in France). Delivery due next week sometime.

Please post here if you have any success sourcing some of the said tyres. I would be interested in a group buy if possible.

Shameless plug

I have an ad on PH at the moment for a brand new pair of 325/30/19 MPS Cup+ (N2) They're no good to you if you have an extended warranty as under the warranty they are suitable only for a 997 GT2 or GT2RS.

Why not GT3 RS?

Why not GT3 RS?
I had long drawn out comms with Porsche in Jan this year. I had bought the N2 rears before finding out that the GT2 needed to be N1's all round or my warranty couldnt be renewed, i.e. the N ratings on front and rear couldn't be mixed.

TB993TT pointed out that the GT2RS runs different N rated tyres front and rear, it turns out that the N2 homologation was for the GT2RS. After a few emails back and forth to Porsche they confirmed that the GT2 can also use the N2 rear tyres. As I was in contact with Porsche anyway I asked about the use of the N2's on the GT3 RS, the reply was that the GT3RS needs to be N1 all round. Maybe it has changed now? I dont see why the N2's are usable on the GT2/GT2RS and not the GT3RS.
