If I had a mumsnet login, I suspect I'd be better off asking this there. Been offered a job that's split between Leeds and Bradford. Anyone think the primary their kid(s) go to is great? Would prefer a <200kid school.

The one next to me is supposed to be good (Bramhope). I'm making a hopeful assumption that my son will get a place as its only about 200m away as the crow flies.

All depends on where you live, there's funny rules on intake in Leeds schools - My wife and I are both teachers, we know.

Are we talking primary schools or high? I'm high and mrs r is primary so could probably give you a good one in most areas, especially north and west leeds

Primary. Currently looking around Otley, Guiseley, Menston, Farnley and Burley-in-Wharfedale. Small, as in less than 200, is important to us.

Thanks.

I'm in Burley. There are two primary schools here in the village, both of which by all accounts have very good reputations. My son is two years off going there but no worries at all about him going to either o them. Both feed into Ilkley Grammar School.

Cheers for the tip - looks like a beautiful part of the country. Been stuck in the flatlands of Cambridgeshire for too long.

All those areas are pleasant.

Some nice pubs etc in Burley, seems to have a good community etc - and close to some great driving roads.

No doubt some good little village schools dotted about too.
