Cayman - roof bars options?
Discussion
Just wondered whether anyone else has been through sorting out the options for fitting roof bars to a Cayman? Obviously, there's the Porsche option, but I was also wondering about Thule, who offer a range of individual 'feet' (http://www.thule.com/en/GB/Products/Base-Racks/Feet) to pair with their bars.
This thread (http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=74567) talks about the compatibility of the Thule roof attachments with 996s and 997s; does anyone know whether the Cayman and 911 roof attachments are identical?

I couldn't find any that were compatible other than the Porsche one, which I believe is made by Thule ( but you can only buy it through Porsche ! ).
The problem is the roof is quite curved so the feet are both angled to make the bars sit flat. Not sure if any generic feet will fit.
The Porsche one is quite good quality and very sturdy but expensive. I got a discount from my OPC as they had a set of bars in stock that were on a showroom car, still around £200 for the bars though IIRC.
Once you have bars I think most accessories made by Thule or Mont-Blanc fit as they just have flat metal plates that slide into the bars and lock.

There was a thread about a cheaper option a few days ago...........

I have the Porsche ones - I bought them off someone on here, not super cheap but they are very solid and the bike carrier is really good.

Hope this isn't too cheeky posting this here but Porsche bike rack options are limited so if anybody is after a sea sucker bike rack check it out!

I have a barely-used Porsche Cayman roof rack system and two bike carriers if anyone would like to buy them. Originally bought so that I could do Sportives around the south-east but it's just not worked out the way I had hoped. Based in Guildford.
