RE: £15,000 giveaway: decisions, decisions
Friday 18th January 2013
Thanks to our friends at Adrian Flux insurance we're in the incredible position to offer you a cash injection of up to £10,000 into your next purchase from the PH classifieds. With a second prize of £5,000 to the same ends there are going to be two very happy PHers who suddenly find their buying options widened considerably.
£15,000 giveaway: decisions, decisions
We're offering some cash for your new car fund - what to spend it on though?
So how do you stand a chance of winning this amazing prize? The full details of how to enter, T&Cs and the rest can be found here. And the entry form itself is here.
Suitably inspired what would you spend the money on? Well, that £5K alone gives you some pretty tempting options. A quick browse threw up some pretty varied and interesting metal to suit all tastes. How about a brawny 350Z roadster? Or maybe an Alpina fettled E46 3 Series? If you're feeling brave you could even lay it down on a Porsche 928.
And if you scoop the top prize of £10,000? Well, the true PHer would have to consider this classic slice of Blackpool rock in the shape of a TVR Chimaera. Or maybe you want something a bit more hardcore and manic, like a Mitsubishi Evo VIII.
Of course, if you were already out shopping and have some money set aside you could use either prize to increase your buying power. A nice example. Maybe you were about to lay down £27K on this very nice 2009 Boxster S PDK on sale at Official Porsche Centre Leeds. Lovely car. But with another £10K in your pocket all of a sudden you could have this faster, lighter, much more interesting and purist 2010 Boxster Spyder with fewer miles, also for sale at an OPC. You can see how we used the filters - age, mileage, etc - in the new and improved classifieds with the two searches here and here. There are, surely, countless other examples. But that's where you come in! Have a play with the classifieds search tools, tell us how you'd spend the money, why the car you've chosen merits it and why you deserve to win and the money could be yours.
Good luck and thanks again to Adrian Flux for supporting this fabulous competition.

Great to see a free to enter £ comp here on PH...just a couple of teething issues with it though... firstly if you only have one choice it isnt going to work with the two prize values and you only be able to choose one car. If you choose your dream motor which is priced at say £10000 and win second prize and you havent got another £5k knocking about what happens then? Secondly if i had a car on PH classifieds for sale today and someone chose as their dream purchase for the comp and it was still for sale in march when the comp ends id be a bit suprised unless it was very overpriced. Will await for the new improved reviewed revised version before placing my entery...just my two penneth.

Ive tried to submit my application for it (Really wouldn't mind an MG ZT 260 :P) but every time i do it just finishes up on a white screen with no confirmation of anything. Is this normal?
Just scroll the page up... One question I have, what happens if you entered a bit quick off the mark and by the time the competition closes you've changed your mind about the car and want something different?!

I think it was discussed in another thread - PH wants you to choose a selection of cars that you would ideally want (not just one car) and IF you win, they will help you buy the car. One question I have, what happens if you entered a bit quick off the mark and by the time the competition closes you've changed your mind about the car and want something different?!
The URL that you enter is just to give them an idea on the sort of car you would like, not a specific example.
EDIT: If you did specify one car in the URL, fear not. Just be aware the car might have been sold by the time the competition closes, so why they suggested the idea of putting multiple cars down.

Shoot for the stars!!im currently in a position where my current car is costing too much too run, fuel costs are bad enough but road fund licence is £460.00 a year insurance aint the cheapest
id really rather not sell it if possible but the cost of changing wont be cheap
i want something similar to it thats more ecomonomical but has the same performance and comfort, also 4 wheel drive is a personal preference as im a big fan of sticking to the road
this fits the bill, as does a bmw 330d
i am however open to suggestions, current car is a mazda 6 mps
