Audi A6 stuck in park?!

Picked a 2006 110k mile 2.7tdi up yesterday and it's now sitting outside the pub refusing to move, I now realise it's fairly common problem (doh...), does it have a fairly common solution?

Could well be the selector or brake pedal switches.

It doesn't appear to be that simple...

My friendly auto electrician cleared a load of fault codes and all was well when I picked the car up, try and drive it now however and it's stuck in park again! Guess that's a likely ECU issue?!

There are many things that it could be; clearing faults won't help if something is broken.

Think you'll need to get it diagnosed properly. It's most likely a relatively minor electrical fault. The only thing that will make the selector stick in park is if the car can't see that you're pressing the brake pedal.

Took the car back and bought a manual one instead, all fixed :-)
