Hi guys looking for some help here, I am having a 1967 fastback rebuilt in the UK (US original chassis) with a 5.5ltr supercharged ford racing engine 580+ bhp, i will be having a custom made stainless steel exhaust fitted. can anyone tell me what IVA limits I will have to meet ( noise and emisions) if any. any help would be greatfully recieved. Going to invest a lot of money in this 1 off car. will post pics as soon as i can get them ( i live in glasgow and the car is being built in london)

IVA is only apllicable to cars under ten years old.

Don't heavily moddified cars have to go through an IVA on the point system ?

I think that's BIVA which is completely different to IVA.

If it needs a BIVA test rods 'n' sods would be the best source of information.

As the car sounds like it's 'just' going to have modified engine/trans/brakes I don't think it falls into the BIVA category as the main part of the car still exists intact.
Mustangs always had 'big' engine options (unlike Ford Pop's etc) so that isn't an issue.

IMHO it will just need an MOT before registering - but I could be wrong!

My old man's 67 had a simple identity check for registration which consisted of the bloke coming to the garage that restored it and looking at the American title and vin plate (I think), waaaayy less standard bits than yours, definitely no IVA, certainly no emissions or noise issues (as a few on here will vouch!)

ETA - this was 3 years ago, things may have changed

MOT is all you will need, classic mustangs do not need to go through an IVA.

Whos building it in London?
