What does the JLR privilege car purchase scheme offer?

If it's anything like our scheme at VW, you can lease cars for dirt cheap.

VW's offer for March is a top spec EOS for £130 a month. My mum was so happy!!

Around 20% off Ford, Jaguar and Land Rover motors. I think it varies slightly model to model though. I don't think it applies to lease vehicles but I may be wrong on that. It extends to immediate family and your partner's family too.

Are you sure? They aren't part of the Ford group anymore.

Ford still supply engines and stuff to Jag. They don't own Jag any more, Tata do, but they are still a huge supplier.

The cheapest car JLR make these days is a defender. Not exactly a shopping car!

CO2 tax bands? Forget about it. You need a range of cars the people in the company can afford (and can afford the tax on!)

Looking at their sales success - it seems you don't wink

Merc's scheme is generous too. £99/month for a top of the range C class estate. A lad at work has one, his missus works there and is allowed 2 so he has one and she has one too. They do 9000 miles (about 6 months use for the husband) and then get replaced.

True - although having been there, I think you'll find it's not the workforce that are buying them.

I know somebody who works for Tata and he said that basically he can buy a car (he had a Discovery last time I saw him), run it all year and then at least break even selling it.

Don't they have a scheme to minimise the BIK tax?

Most staff drive regular non-JLR/Ford family cars - so either the scheme is not offered to many or isn't especially worthwhile, until you're being offered a XKR-S for peanuts.

not sure about leasing, but have been told you can get up to 20% off list price on old models or ones which aren't selling well like the xj, you won't get any discount on L405 range rover or evoque.

What about the Employee Car Ownership (ECO) scheme, which is apparently for managers?

When I bought an "ex demo/jlr management" Range Rover Supercharged a few years back the main dealer accidently left the previous keepers paperwork in it which showed he'd leased it for a year for the grand sum of just £350 a month!

I sometimes work near Pyms Lane in Crewe (Bentley factory now owned by Audi) and the car parks there are littered with vag products presumably on similar schemes. Seen a lot of obscure stuff like Audi S4s and S6s which Id imagine are offered at even better prices just so audi can show that they've actually 'sold' some.

Lots of contractors who aren't eligible perhaps?

I used to work for JLR.

All staff are offered a discounted purchase scheme, which amounts to about 20% off most Ford/LR/Jag models.

Management have a BIK-reducing lease scheme of either 1 or 2 (dependent on when they became a manager) Ford/LR/Jaguar product(s). Usually, most models are below £200/month, plus fuel costs. The cars are replaced every 6-9 months on average.

Senior managers have two cars as above, but they have a wider selection of models and the first car is about £25/month plus fuel.

Executive managers have the same as senior managers, but their fuel is included.

I now work within Volkswagen Group - and their scheme is extremely good. I currently have a fully expensed S4 Avant (including fuel) for a grand total of £75/month, and my wife has a Golf TDI 150 GT for an additional £120. Cars ate changed every 6 months or 8,500 miles.
