Anyone know where I can get one asap, and how easy are they to fit?

Cheers
Phil

On ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PORSCHE-996-GT3-GT3-RS-L...

Failing that I have a partially damaged one from a 996 GT3 in my garage. I assume looking at them that they are both the same.

I take it there are none at the dealers then.

Thanks but seeing as it's meant to be a dry weekend I rather fancy having this sorted and taking the car out this weekend.

Sorry, can't help on the supply front.

However, fitting is not too difficult at all. You need a pack of the push pins and some double sided tape (I might have the tape if you can source the splitter and pins!) and about 15 minutes.

Have you tried calling the usual garages in our area (9E, Parr, Paragon, GT One, Porsche Byfleet, etc)?

Happy to help further if you find the splitter

JZ Machtech always have these in stock. Easy enough to fit. God knows I've done it enough.
Car will be perfectly OK without it in the meantime

I've had 3 splitters and torn/refitted them 9 times in 4 years. finally found a good way to work with these things. rubber compression nuts and plastic bolts, now when it catches the plastic bolts snap with no damage to bodywork or splitter and very easy to replace, just unscrew the sheared bolt and fit new.

No offence, but the above on Ebay is the `Cup` or Motorsport one and is about the same price new from Porsche Reading before the PCGB 10% discount.

I use the `Cup` one too, as they look way better and are much cheaper that the standard GT3/RS ones at about £50 notes more confused

Thanks guys I'll give them a call in the morning. I can,t believe it, I did five laps of the ring and then did my front splitter parking up
at the Channel Tunnel...Doh

They're listed as consumables for a reason I guess!

We had a run out to the west coast last weekend and I lost count the amount of times my splitter/brake ducts hit the ground. One other GT3 lost its splitter all together!

Yes that was me! Ripped it off at about 2mph trying to negotiate my way out of a layby. Getting quite good at threading through the cage into the back seats now smile

I use the Cup/Motorsport one too.
On my 4th one, with several being refitted several times, in 12 months.

I've moved to the method bobsan mentions. It is definitely more robust, but more fiddly. And the flange on the rubber well nut holds the splitter away from the PU slightly. Not sure I like that, but definitely better than the regular clips for durability.

oddly, after purchasing several packs of the rubber nuts I found a strain with a much thinner flange allowing closer fit, plus I still use a mastic gun and place a bead of silicon along two thirds of the splitter, keep that pesky 150 lepton draught out.

Sorry chaps, I have been away for a few days...

Do yourselves a favour and buy a roll of `Kleeband` Porsche Part no. 000 043 206 04.

It`s the OEM product 3M `Scotch` Pressure Sensitive Tape designed to work with the 996 GT3/RS front splitters.

But use TWO rows/lines of it instead of one and guess what? Your splitter will stay on for way longer...

This tape now has a new part number 000-043-305-30. Just had to order some as my splitter decided to detach itself at speed at the weekend.
