Just a look over see what you think really, not many images uploaded and I will be getting it proofread once I have the bulk of what data I want uploaded. Not plugged into my main wordpress site as yet.

I've basically plumbed in opencart and hacked around with the html/php/css to make it look like it belongs then layout and work how I want. I'm hamfisted with this tech so let me know if theres any silly mistakes!

Thanks!

That's one of the most professional and well organized websites I've seen in a long time. Nice and simple layout which lets the content speak for itself.

What about having the option for different currencies?

It always amazes me that a website from the southern hemisphere always shows the right way up on my browser in the northern hemisphere.

That's a really nice layout. Also loads pretty swiftly (that's a slightly silly thing to say as, unlike some, I am on a 60 Megabagel download courtesy of some nice Virgins - however, I know some websites that take a (relative) age to load up).

Personally, I think the font used at the top is not very easy to decipher (font type and size combination). I am an old duffer though. Fonts can speak volumes, of course!

I also don't see how the "Returns" page works!!! silly but the layout has gone AWOL on that page, too. Shipping Information appears to have a typo or two around "... via New Zealand..." (And I guess you know you've got no "T&Cs")

Am a Safari user (6.0.4) .....

Thanks, website is hosted in the US should have plenty of bandwidth and the images are fairly light I think? Returns page will be zapped ore redone, hadnt got that far! Typo's will be nuked by proof reader I hope...

Not sure what to do about the font?!

I think that when you open a website there's an almost instant pass or fail with the impact the site has (or lack of)
Your site works as it's well laid out and is sufficiently dynamic with the changing image at the top (rather than OTT with annoying flashy images that so many sites have) to get initial attention.
Having passed that stage, everything is sensibly laid out and easy to navigate. Good luck with it.

Nice Rob - one quirk that annoys me is the Cart showing on the front page is a white box when everything round about is dark.

Tried the links at the bottom of the wordpress page

Print Information Page
  • 'bubble' not 'buble'
  • 'black' not 'bladk'

About Page
  • 'beauty' not 'beuty'

Shipping Information Page
  • 'bubble wrapped' not 'bublewrapped' - it's two words I think.
  • 'via New Zealand' not 'vai ew Zealand'
  • 'if your print reaches you damaged' not 'if your print will reach you damaged' - also the commas look at bit ott
Contact Us Page
  • no phone number (may be deliberate)
Prints Page
  • 'Gilcee' or 'Giclee' - you've got one in the text and one under the pic (I don't know which is correct!)
The links at the top

About Page
  • takes you out of the wordpress pages and it's not clear how to get back as the main link goes back to zapharg.com
General - all think links at the top take you out of the wordpress pages (into zapharg.com) and other than hitting the back key it's not clear how to get back

The pics are magnificent needless to say smile

Front page

Welcome visitor......I'd opt for losing the "you can" and replacing with "please" and increase font size by 1 or 2 points.
I'd also drop currency down a level or two, and bring the cart info over to that side, tying the two together.

Headings need right justified so workshop is in line with page edge.
Increase Home Account etc in size and bring central, and inline with the welcome visitor text.
Moving all that around, you could make that section look more cohesive, as well being able to lop off a good 30-40 pixels of dead black space, meaning less scrolling.
Similarly the bottom - cut off 5-10 pixels below Site Map.

Cheers! will have a look at re-arranging the header. Not sure I want to mess with the wordpress menu at the top just yet but can deal with the rest.

Rob, here's yours fixed and tweaked in a few areas - mainly padding, positioning, and some font size increases.

If you're on a Mac, I have a Safari Archive I can send you, so you can see the changes and match them to your file.

Right have it looking like suggested and I'm liking it.

Not as slick as it needs to be but will tidy that up later.

Tempted to have this as either the main site or a new proper domain and have the blog. Linked off that. Was considering a new more serious domain name anyhow.

I I imagine I can just point the new domain at WWW/wordpress/store?
