Calm down dear it is only a forum afterall.
I have many different Rolex all bought new from Rolex ADs - all but one were bought here in the UK. The only Rolex watches I have ever paid full list price for were my two SS Daytona (black face and white face)and a Rolex LV Anniversary sub date. On all the other watches I have had a discount.
The highest discount was 33% on a brand new SS Submariner Date , followed by 25% on a brand new Gold Submariner date, 20% on a Steel and Gold Datejust, 15% off a Steel and Gold Daytona, 11% off a SS GMT IIC, 10% off a Rolex DeepSea(this was bought recently - I could have probably haggled more off)

I spoke to the rolex AD at Heathrow and you don't need to be flying out of the EU to get the 20% off.
Just book a flight to Manchester and get the train home.
They don't always have the best sports steel watches in but anything with gold they will be more than happy to get for you. Give them a heads up and they will get it in for you.
This was the info they gave me two months ago.

was in said dealers the other day and they get no s/s sports models at all. All bimetal or non-sports. was looking for one myself and was chatting for a while looking at a few pieces. the guy basically said to try them for some of the harder to get stuff and ltd editions as they are a big dealer for lots of big brands (was also looking at IWC and he mentioned the limited edition Yacht Club coming out soon)but knows that people will get bigger discounts on a lot of stuff by shopping around.Just book a flight to Manchester and get the train home.

personally only ever paid list for my Daytona (actually paid a feckin premium; bugger)
I was looking at a secondhand Submariner in my local watch repairer and he said they could get 15% off a new Rolex as they were authorised to work on them. I think it'll come down to negotiating with local dealers but as this guy wasn't budging more than £100 on the secondhand one it will be difficult to get a great deal.
Best bet maybe duty free next time you go on holiday!

Take a holiday in Dubai. Between 20 and 40% off new Rolex here, if you know where to go. My guy last week even had a SS Daytona about 12% below list. Brand new.
Where should I be looking at? I'm in Dubai July... looking for a new sub at the moment, guess its worth waiting a month or so?alanm_3 said:
I travel to Dubai a lot and only ever see new Rolex in branches of Seddiqi (apologies for the spelling) and as I understand it, they have the monopoly on new (official) Rolex.
I'm guessing anyone else selling them there, must be getting grey imports?
Looked at a Yachtmaster a few years ago , and got them down to the equivalent of £3750 , I hesitated and walked away , now £8200 here.I'm guessing anyone else selling them there, must be getting grey imports?
Could kick myself.
Sadly those days are no more. The Dirham is linked to the US Dollar and the exchange rate has gone from around 7-8, maybe 10 years ago, to less than 6, so most things are as expensive, or sometimes more so than back in the UK.
The advantage about buying in the UAE is that they almost always have every model in stock, as a lot of people there can be quite impulsive and expect a dealer to have what they want, immediately!
Then there's the lottery of wether or not to declare it upon return and face paying duty etc on it...........
Many dealers actually offer to post the box and papers without you having to ask.

Just put a deposit on a mid size brand new Rolex for the Mrs.
RRP in Goldsmiths - £9150 and told absolutely no discount available as it's a steel watch
From Watches of Switzerland in Heathrow - £7625
Luckily they had the one she wanted on stock as you can't order then in, they get what they are given, however they will reserve a watch for you with a 10% deposit. I'm not flying next until the end of June so will collect it then.
Apparently there is a Rolex price increase due in the next month as well, but we are locked into the lower price which is a bonus as well.

Two bits of information that oft prove wrong.AD's regularly warn of a price increase next month to increase sales. They only find out a few days prior. Loads and loads of people have complained that when they pick up a watch that's been oredered or reserved just before a price increase, they are charged based on the higher price.
Hope you don't get hit.

Interesting - I can understand them using this as a sales tool, however it would be wrong to then charge someone a higher price having already put a desposit down.AD's regularly warn of a price increase next month to increase sales. Given the watch is being bought from Mappin & Webb / Watches of Switzerland I would like to think they would stick to their word and keep the current agreed price that is set out on the sales receipt.
We'll see! If they don't then it's a tough one as the watch is still 17% cheaper than (current) High St RRP pricing and I guess that price difference will remain that way due to the lack of VAT.
