Introduction to the AM Forum
Discussion
Hi Guys,
just a post to introduce myself. Name is, uh, Chris, I bought a V12V last year although I've not been over to the AM forum much. (Been posting in the TVR sub section for my other toy)
So it's a V12 Vantage, Meteorite Silver and lightweight seats. Fantastic thing obviously, though there are a few things I'd like to sort with it. Trying to get AM Works to figure out how to get full/open close windows, but they seem useless so I might design some electronics to do this myself. Headlights fog up (AMW tried to fix that once already), and it's be nice if I could blutooth music from my phone, but then none of these niggles compromise the car itself.
Still gets a smile whenever I open the garage, let alone drive it.

Welcome.
re the windows - I was under the impression that the reason they can't 'auto up' isn't because of the switch, but because of the lack of the correct sensor in the window. There needs to be a sensor to tell if the window is inadvertently closing on something (some HSE nonsense, or some such). AM have never put that sensor in their windows hence no 'auto up'. IIRC, it really is a case of TADTS.
re foggy lights - another case of TATDS (or, at least, lots of them do that). The approved AM fix, IIRC, is to put silicon sachets in the lights. This obviously only works for so long though before they have to be refreshed.
bluetooth - are you talking about getting bluetooth music via the standard bluetooth ('phone) module? Pah, what do you think this is??? The 21st century??? Once again, no luck, I'm afraid. You should, however, be able to connect an ipod via a cable, either with the AM version or an aftermarket solution.

I'm sure all these old fashioned iritations will all be a thing of the past with the new Mercedes backed models!re the windows - I was under the impression that the reason they can't 'auto up' isn't because of the switch, but because of the lack of the correct sensor in the window. Welcome Chris, a lovely car. Can I assume 'suicide black' leather?
That'll be one of the 50 shades that AM produce Welcome Chris, a lovely car. Can I assume 'suicide black' leather?
Just off to the Castle Hill Car Festival in Filleigh. IanV12VR has been working on the AM display for months, the weather looks pants but it should be a great weekend thanks to all his hard work. Looking forward to meeting some of the guys on here including silverspeed and GerryV8V.
Big welcome Chris - lovely car. Don't worry about the banter and thread hijacking on here - you'll get used to it.
