Most of you will be well aware of the significant rise in air cooled values, recently the 964 and in the last year or so, the 3.2.

But what about the 993? Values have been stuck fast for about the last 7 years but we are seeing some movement, certainly on low milers and the Turbo of course. The RS went ballistic ages ago and we dont need to mention the mighty GT2!

But what about the Carreras and Targas? Apparently the below Targa has just sold for 40k! Even with the Diesel typo error!

So, are they on the move, or not?

....is it more a case of prices holding firm ? A few nb cars going above £35k but only if low miles etc...

Is the 993 becoming a bit if a historical curiosity - bridging the gap between the last of classic silhouette cars and the new-era water-cooled machines ?

Good on them !

Love the 993, always been a classic shape in my eyes and could understand why someone might want to spend top dollar to get a good one. After all, they aren't likely to make any more so it's all down to the laws of supply and demand.

Imagine finding it really was a Diesel......would surely be a "Crying game" moment biggrin

I wonder if we will ever see a diesel in a 911? Maybe for another thread!

I'm surprised the 993 has not already gone up more in price-
try finding a decent C2 coupe in manual.....there's never many on the market

I'm surprised that the 993 hasn't set sail already. IMO as a 911 package it's got to be one of the best and absolutely one of the prettiest. I personally don't see it as a 'bridge' between air and water cooled. It is the last of the air cooled era and all that came with that ( over engineered feel, etc )

I think there's a good chance that the 993 could be 'next' however if it isn't it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. I, like other owners will just continue enjoying these wonderful machines.

For me the ultimate expression of the 911. It's very hard to find a really good one with the right spec. They sell extremely quickly and at strong prices too.

If anyone wants to sell their manual C2 please let me know!

I'm starting to look for a manual targa or a c2. Has anyone enquired about maltons molested c2?

I also see there is a silver c2 at Sarah cox which seems cheap for the mileage. I searched the company name but didn't find anything bad. If the rear spoiler was removed and normal wheels were put on would it be close to standard from the outside?

Great cars, but prettiest? For me it's the looks that hold it back. But luckily we don't all like the same thing :-)

I hope 993 prices don't go up. I love driving mine and wouldn't expect its price to drop, but I still want to enjoy driving it and not worry that the less miles I put on it the more its worth.

I intentionally bought mine because I wanted history over miles, and miles over 100K, as I didn't want to be odometer watching as I was with previous Porsches.

I thought and still think that (for me at least)it was the best option, I really enjoy driving my cars, especially abroad and always max out the 6K classic car insurance each year. Saying that, 964s with 140K miles are starting to go for stellar money in comparison to a few years back, so maybe I could get the best of both Worlds. smile

To answer your question..........no
I think the boat has sailed and TBH with regards to the air-cooled cars the 993 despite popular forum opinion the 993 is not the favourite AC car, people tend to talk up the values especially if they own one.
Any old very low mile 911 commands a sales premium.
Personally speaking i think the ship has sailed with all the air-cooled cars.

A number of you are saying that the 'ship has sailed', which i think is overstating it, but if this is the case, where do they go from here then?
