A bunch of sad Bmer geeks from the F30 forum went to Surrey Rolling Road this am. Here are some of the results overlaid.

The Ecotune stage 1 remap actually met its stated bhp at 385bhp and around 550ftlb of torque. The 335D stock was around 311bhp - SSR said that they normally expect stock 335D to be around 320bhp mark depending on temp.

Green (MG6) is Std
Red (M5) is a generic £150 tuning box
Pink (HJ6) is Steinbauer box
Other Green (TR0) is DMS remap
Blue (WJ1) is Ecotune stage 1 remap

Thanks for hosting ... and being very careful with our pride and joys. angel

Once the numbers are crunched, I think we will be busting some myths surrounding the 335Ds, 330D and tuning.

Ok some numbers to crunch.

Green (MG60) is Std
Red (M5ET) is a bluespark generic £150 tuning box
Pink (HJ64) is Steinbauer box
Other Green (TR08) is DMS remap
Blue (WJ14) is Ecotune stage 1 remap

The Ecotune remap is good value and close to its claimed performance figures.

For the tuning boxes, the generic bluepark setup was smooth and extremely good value.

The surprise for me was the BMW PPK turning in close to 300bhp and 440ftlb for a 330D - sweet!

Good strong results but also typical of pretty much any turbo engine.. I've had a few turbo petrol's mapped with similar % gains.

Next job is to make them sound as good as they go, that may be slightly harder!

Sound already fixed with the Active Sound Design - just Code in F80 and S55 engine to get the M3/4 sound - sorted smile

The bhp is as expected but I think the torque at 746nm on the Ecotune is likely to break the gearbox. I think, as per the DMS remap, holding the torque to below 700nm is probably a good idea. The 0-60 time will be around 4.1 sec - not that this means much.

For those on here who aren't already on the BMW forum (anyone?!), then my car is the DMS remapped one. It was a custom map to restrict it to 700NM (supposed gearbox limit). I did this in the interests of lengevity as I plan to keep the car for quite a while. They can get more out of it if you want!
