Upon closer inspection. You can see its clearly been used. On the plus side you can also notice that it has been well serviced / looked after.

Yes, the overall bodywork has aged nicely... Much like Aston's Vantage
When you meet her in the pub you should look her up and down and then say EXACTLY those words to her.

I promise she'll love it.

Seriously - Good luck for Friday, hope it goes well.

Had an on/off relationship with a lady at work for over 7 years once, the off periods were never good (but shagging in her office during the day was nicehehe)

The bodywork on my Vantage had a damn good polish a while ago, but it's still got numerous outbreaks of corrosion, more than one unsightly scratch and has stone chips over its chin and rear flanks. And that's not making mention of the scrape on the rim. I replaced the screen this year because I wasn't keen on its crack.

Still, it has a warm and comfy seat.

I took a seat at her table and said afternoon. She smiled and asked whether I worked with so and so.
Sounds like she was -expecting- to be have a random bloke who works with so-and-so turn up and start speaking to her. (and was quite happy about it)

The1Driver said:
"It was fine thanks. Just spent it with the kids..."
She made it clear to you early that she has kids. After you -didn't- just make your excuses and run,

The1Driver said:
She asked if I planned on heading to the local bar after work on Friday.
She asked for your whereabouts on Friday night.

You're going to the pub on Friday, so she has arranged (or is arranging) someone to look after the kids so she can too.

YOU ARE SO IN.

Option 1
Go out on Friday, and be your most charming self.

Option 2
"Look, I know you said you were going to <pub> on Friday, do you fancy doing <other thing> instead?"

Or...

She was asking if he was going out because she needed a baby sitter for her hot date with someone else? OP came across as dull and trustworthy.

I would avoid option 2 because she probably wants a couple of her mates to check you out first... either that or she thinks you may be a bit of an odd ball so wants to meet in public!!!

Or she wants to get rid of the kids for the night, get you drunk, take you back to her place, give you more booze, wait for you to pass out, and then cut you up into little pieces and enjoy you with a nice bottle of Chianti.

Like she did with her last husband.

Yep, Option 2's the brave one.

Look at it this way.

If she does turn up on Friday, she's already put some time and effort into getting there - if she's 40, the kids are very unlikely to be more than about 10. That means at the very least she's got a friend\grandparents\babysitter to look after them for a bit.

Odds are she's putting in more effort than just walking to the pub on the way home.

Ain't necessarily so, she could have been an early starter and calved down 25 years ago.

The "kids" could be of similar age to the OP so he may get more chances to score in the same family.

Worth pursuing I'd have thought.

Absolutely, there are people I went to school with (I'm 41), who have been grandparents for several years now. Their own kids are roughly mid-20's from what I remember.

we're talking about work for a few mins now. So I decide to drill for more information about her. By asking how her weekend was.....

"It was fine thanks. Just spent it with the kids..." I kept calm.... Just hoping she was divorced. I mean why else would there be no ring on her finger... Anyway I left it at that.

Good news - she asked if I planned on heading to the local bar after work on friday. So I guess I'll get a proper chance to interrogate gate her then!
(me reading the update)

Well done OP, have a good one on Friday.
