A4 cabriolet, B6 or B7, S4. isofix?
Discussion
Hi, struggling to get firm info on this either via web searches or searches on PH
does the B6 and B7 cabiolet allow two isofix in the back. I have read you need to buy an isofix bar for offside and nearside for about 50quid a pop in B6 and B7 A4's, What I cant decipher is if you can fit these isofix bars to the A4 cab in either B6 or B7.
I am thinking of buying an S4 and this is fundamental to the buying checklist. Is the S4 like any B6 or B7 cabriolet.
thanks for any help or advice!

thanks Epimetheus, yes reading online if a B6 or B7 A4 didn't get spec'd with the Isofix bars then you buy them from Audi and fit them with torx bolts, by revealing the mounting points (captive Nuts) by peeling the back seat away between bench and seatback, some few inches, and put the bars in. Guide here:

what i want to know is, are these holes there in B6 B7 cab's when the rear seat backs and bench is peeled back per Picture two on the above thread.
Would you mind having a look and letting me know?

We used a maxi cosi isofix base in the back of the car so that it would be handy to get the child seat in and out. But to be honest, fixing the seat with the seat belt wasn't much less convenient. Plus, the isofix base would often bleep for hours and hours on end, even though everyting was fitted and connected correctly.
Most Audis have had Isofix bottom anchorages since about 2003 - when they were optional you could usually tell if they were likely to be fitted by seeing if there was an airbag deactivation switch in the glovebox. They appeared to be linked spec-wise.
Generally the B5 shape they were optional but B6 onwards I'm pretty sure they all have them.
No top tether attachments for years after, so a foot prop is a good plan to offer anti-rotation protection rather than relying on the cushion stiffness of the seat base.

Any reason to suspect the S4 variant wouldn't have this? say exhaust routing etc. I very much doubt it as surely the core chassis is identical.
No, no reason at all - you just have to stick your fingers in the gap between the backrest and base and feel about for the round bars that the Isofix seat attaches to - as per the pictures aboveGassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
