£100K Garage: Kieran Sprouse

The theme for this garage is great cars to drive!

Name: Kieran Sprouse
Previously owned: Ford KA Mk1 1.3i, SEAT Leon Mk1 1.6
Currently owned: Ford Fiesta Ecoboost 125
On the shortlist: Mazda MX-5, Alfa Mito, Fiesta ST

UK: Rover Mini Cooper
Cost
: £8,995
Balance: £91,005
Why I chose it: "My Mum had a Mini, a red Cooper and it was very much loved. Unfortunately, I was too young to drive it and they sold it before I passed my test, was gutted! We couldn't afford to pay for all the rust repair! This Mini is similar to the one Mum had but with an electric roof and that lovely red, I think I prefer it!"

Germany: Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk1
Cost
: £13,995
Balance: £77,010
Why I chose it: " I like hatchbacks but love hot hatchbacks, why look any further? The Golf Mk1 is the original and this one is in great condition (won a contest!). This car down some B-roads will equal shedloads of enjoyment."

Rest of Europe: Alfa Romeo 159
Cost
: £5,950
Balance: £71,060
Why I chose it: "This would be my daily driver, a great looker, 2.4L diesel which is economical...ish. Nah, I lied, I bought it for the looks, I mean look at it! I do want to own an Alfa anyway, they have always intrigued me and you all know the saying about being a true petrol head! I do also really like those red accents."

USA: Ford Mustang
Cost
: £42,200
Balance: £28,860
Why I chose it: "To be honest, I wasn't sure what to pick for the USA. Not a massive fan of many of their cars but I do like a Mustang and this one is a treat. Great colour, great engine, great noise, great fun!"

Japan: Mazda MX-5 Mk1
Cost
: £4,000
Balance: £24,860
Why I chose it: "You may have guessed the theme for my garage is great cars to drive and I couldn't not include an MX-5. Seriously want one of these and I may be able to afford one and I don't think enough cars are in this green anymore. Short shifting, great handling and again, loads of fun." [Unfortunately the Berkerley green one sold and replaced with this Harvard edition - N.A]

"The rest on insurance for all the cars as I'm only 21 - should just about cover one year!"

Loving that Grabber Blue Stang, very nice.

Mini is very cool, and I loved my MK1 MX-5, sadly tin worm loves them both too.

Somehow I'm not sure if a 'true petrol head' should opt for an Alfa Diesel

This one is a bit like my car history...

1st car - 1984 Mini Sprite LE
2nd car - big bumper Mk2 Jetta - ok, a 1.3, and not a Golf, but it LOOKED alright wink
3rd car - 1998 Mini

At that point I moved onto an Elise, and my girlfriend had 2 mk1 MX-5s on the bounce.

Our current family car is a 159

Mine is also a diesel, though the bag of nails 1.9 rather than the decent sounding 2.4. Clearly, I'm not a proper petrol head either :P

Might have to disappoint the Kieran for choosing it too as though it is probably in the top 10 best looking saloons ever, they aren't that great to drive...
