British GT Sunday Service 11/06

We're back at Silverstone, but now the pros are out on track and we have tickets!

Roll up, roll up, get your free tickets here! On June 11, we're heading over to the Silverstone 500 feat. Supercar Sunday and we've got a bunch of free tickets to give away to PHers for this special addition to our Sunday Service calendar. Oh, and a little thing called the British GT Championship will be taking place too!

"Hang on, where is everyone?"
"Hang on, where is everyone?"
If your knowledge of the British GT is a little rusty, now is the perfect time to get it up to scratch. With GT3/4 versions of the Aston Martin Vantage, Bentley Continental, Ferrari 488, Lamborghini Huracan and McLaren 570S to name but a few, it won't be short of racing exotica to gawp at. In addition, there will be Ginettas and Mini Challenge cars to add to the entertainment.

There will obviously be the usual PistonHeads display of lovely metal alongside a Supercar Driver display, displaying - yes you've guessed it - lots and lots of supercars. As if all that wasn't enough, there will be Segways to fall over on, Caterham drift taster sessions, racing simulators and something called Racing Bug; pitting you head to head against others racing remote control cars, it's perfect for all of us big kids! There will be plenty of cool things for the actual kids to do as well, including electric go-karts, Trailer Cave - a 30-metre cave-like challenge course - and, because no day out would be complete without it, face painting. So it really is the perfect excuse to get the family involved in a motorsport-themed day out.

GT3 and GT4 will race at Silverstone
GT3 and GT4 will race at Silverstone
We have space for 500 cars, with 1,000 free tickets available (two per car), but children aged 15 and under can attend for free. The event will be running from 08:30 to around 5pm, although the PistonHeads aspect will be from 08:30 to 13:00. It would be ideal if all who sign up could be there slightly before 08:30, as our parking area on Copse Runway will be part of the display - although you will not be turned away if you arrive later, or stopped if you want to leave earlier. Any further information about the day can be found on the Silverstone website here.

This really is set to be an incredible day for the whole family; so sign up here to secure your place!

Thanks PH team - great opportunity. Question with regards to kids if you have scope to clarify:

Agree it says they can enter free, but Silverstone site indicates they should be ticketed still - so should PH members specify how many are required if kids come along?

Thanks again

Further to the question about kid's tickets:

Do we have to do anything to claim our freebies - will they just be handed out on the gate to PH folk or is there some sort of process?

Thanks

Almost certainly nothing. It will be like ally pally in that you turn up and collect your tickets. Or they'll email them with the smiley.

Apparently you use your PH smiley to get in and then exchange that for tickets once you get in.

Pretty new to this, I assume by PH Smiley you just mean our usernames right?

Ordinarily an email is sent a few days before the event, within this will be a smiley for you to print out and show at the gate/ ticket office but the email should explain it all.

Article ^^^^doesn't give a latest time and last time I looked Silverstone site hasn't got even a provisional timetable for Sunday.

Is it problematic if we turn up later? I am travelling from London via Oxford and not sure I fancy a pre 6 am departure. If it's really an issue I can take myself off the list.

Sorry I'm new to all this so wasn't aware of the PH etiquette

That’s the best part of Sunday service. Quiet roads.
