So my V12S has a recurring fault with the lamba sensors resulting in the engine management light coming on togethet with the Emissions system service required message.

I took it in to works last month and it lasted a few weeks then on again so i called AM recovery who sent a techy out who turned it off and that lasted 6 days before it came back on.

I called AM recovery and the car was taken in.

2 days later no contact so obviously the car wiill be in over the weekend at least so i contacted AM recovery this morning to arrange a loan car.

They said yes no problem, we can have one delivered to you with 4 days use authorised.

2 hours later im imformed that a group F car will be delivered which is a Vauxhall Insignia or similar.

A Vauxhall Insignia???????

I told them i would rather walk and they offered no alternative and thats where it stopped so no loan car.

Pathetic frown

You get a Maserati from Ferrari and Mercedes S class from Porsche in the same situation.

OK, I see what you're saying, but telling them you would rather walk than use a £20k Vauxhall doesn't exactly paint you in a good light IMHO. The person on the phone would probably be quite happy to own that car, yet you just told him it was ste and clearly not good enough for an Aston Martin owner. Hardly a surprise that the conversation didn't go any further.

Each to their own of course, but I wouldn't be bothered with that as a loan car for 4 days. They're lending it, not asking you to buy it.

Well im obviously not like you and i dont think for one minute that a guy from Enterprise gives 2 hoots what i think or say and he certainly doesnt have the authority to upgrade so your point is moot.

(edited for school boy error as pointed out by scotlandtim)

Lets just hope the tie in with Mercedes does have a positive effect..............

I personally would expect more than a Vauxhall to be offered and would probably initially react the same way as OP, however, I would also take it if it was the only offer available

Please note - that while valid - your point is mute, next time speak up so we can all hear it, otherwise we'll have to class it as moot.

Thankyou.

hehe

I think if it was going to be for a few weeks and/or you had a special trip organised then I'd be a little peeved. But for a few days? First world problems!

This....and if that was the case a polite request based on actual requirements would have probably resulted in an 'upgrade' rather than throwing your toys out the pram and cutting ones nose off to spite your face. rolleyes
If you had a large 4x4 and were given a Corsa, I'm sure saying how am I going to fit 2 Great Danes in that, or how is that going to tow the Horse Box I'm sure they'd approach it differently than just saying I'd rather walk than drive that perfectly acceptable transport for a few days, maybe saying you had a date and the medium size family car isn't going to result in you getting laid or it's going to be crap on the trackday you had booked might be a better approach. driving

Thanks for the lough your post gave me.
I would more be concerned why they don't find the fault in a timely manner then about the manual Vauxhaul smile

just out of interest ....when you hire a car abroad do you always hire an Aston or Porsche or like me, or, do you tend to hire a VW golf passat or even a GM Insignia ?

amazing responses!!

Im happy to take them all with a pinch of salt.

The point that everyone missed is that AM dont do what equivalent manufacturers do.

What's your hiring a car abroad habits got to do with a replacement car because of a fault that they have failed to rectify on a few different occasions?
