BMW Sunday Service review

When seeing the entirety of the M5 on a Sunday morning is a good thing...

Our BMW Sunday Service has been one of the most popular dates in the calendar ever since it was introduced. Even so, it was a surprise to us all when last weekend's event was fully subscribed more than twice over within just a few hours of being announced.

The 300 members lucky enough to secure a place were treated to the chance to see one of every generation of M5 in the flesh, including the latest 600hp F90 variant. They also got up close and personal with the much vaunted M4 CS, as well as few of BMW's other choice offerings - bonus PH points for anyone who found the Z8 tucked away at the top of the car park!

Sister brand Mini put on a show of its own, a JCW Challenge car taking pride of place alongside its road-going siblings. It was a Mini Countryman camper, replete with roof mounted tent, which stole the limelight though, PHers young and old all wanting to scale the ladder and see if they'd fit inside.

Of course, the PH community brought along plenty worth getting out of bed for as well. With BMWs of all shapes and sizes, from 1Ms to X5 M50ds and M5 Tourings to 3.0 CSLs making the pilgrimage to their spiritual UK home, there was plenty to see. Plenty to hear, too, the multistory carpark making the perfect acoustic setting for everything from C63s to Corvettes to demonstrate their vocal range.

A massive thank you goes to everyone at BMW for sacrificing their Sunday morning to accommodate us, especially the kitchen staff for preparing hundreds of delicious sausage, bacon, and egg baps, which kept us going throughout the day.

There are only handful of Sunday Services left before Christmas now, so if you missed out on BMW, or managed to attend but just want more, keep an eye on the site for more details soon!

Seeing some of those shots of the new M5.... I'm really not convinced by the looks to be honest. Seems like the design is a bit fussy, in my opinion.

Still, I'm sure it'll be a stonkingly good car, the reviews of the normal 5 series are very praiseworthy.

Favourite M5 though? Ooo tough one. Either the E34/E39/E60 but I couldn't decide which!

I hope their kitchen uses gas - there wouldn't be any electricity left for cooking with all those mobility scooters on charge!

Shame I didn't make it - but being told at 6.30pm on Saturday meant that it was a bit too close. Ah well, another one..... Hethel, anyone?

Would have liked to have taken the 130 along, unfortunately it clashed with something else.
