AJP8 & S6 clutch supply
Discussion
There are various threads on merits and problems over the last few years on AP/Helix/other options but I was alarmed to see this comment on the latest thread on a Cerbera page:
Suggest we have a central sticky in the General forum to keep everyone up to date on the issue and the options open to us plus ongoing experience with the Helix and others.
Can anyone with more inside track establish the facts on the AP clutch ?

Just to add some more info (and a question) to this :
My clutch is currently being changed and TVR Parts have no AP Racing plates available and apparently no more are due to be manufactured by AP. They are owned by Brembo and the Italian HQ have removed the tooling from AP (according to TVR Parts).
Only Helix available from TVR Parts - unless anyone knows of a current stockist?
If this is true, there looks to be a major supply problem hitting all us owners of Cerbs/T-Cars for the future months and potentially years. My clutch is currently being changed and TVR Parts have no AP Racing plates available and apparently no more are due to be manufactured by AP. They are owned by Brembo and the Italian HQ have removed the tooling from AP (according to TVR Parts).

Hi. Iam in the process of getting some AP clutches refurbished, I had one done to prove them and this is good on my Cerb so the company are completing the others and sourcing some new fingers
Please, please update regarding the refurb process/price/supplier.Always good to have an alternative to Helix if needed.

CG Motorsport in Leeds.
+1Used these guys recently to rebuild my tired AP clutch. Top service at less than half the price of a new AP. They can replace ALL of the parts if needed including diaphragm spring and fingers. I can't comment on their longevity yet but they were very quick to promote the kevlar friction material they use so I have high hopes.
For the record I have no connection with them. I just like to promote genuine companies who don't feel the need to charge TVR Tax!!

That wouldn't surprise me.
Time to round up all the knackered ones sitting in folks garages to create an exchange pool for CG ?
Strangely I've heard a whisper that, that is what a particular specialist is doing right now. Question is will they be the same price as the new Ap unit or considerably reduced. Time to round up all the knackered ones sitting in folks garages to create an exchange pool for CG ?
I donated my last AP clutch to another PH'er doing the same, now my Tuscan has gone.

I wonder if this indicates the demand for these clutches is simply not high enough for AP-Brembo to maintain the tooling and production.
We may be suprised and it's less than 100 sold a year.
Ap/Brembo are good to go they've already assured me there always supply Power how ever little we order... We may be suprised and it's less than 100 sold a year.

Good news, thanks Dom. Hopefully my 58,000 miler will last another 3 months !Dom
What effect vs prior pricing ?
I believe there are variable specs on the AP (per Pete at Elmwood), seem to remember him saying something about a "red" version ? Is that what you've ordered ?
