Anyone know of any place that makes the chrome bezels for instrument dials? See below from past stream.

Apparently they just fit over the existing

I think alloy ones have been made in the past, not "big scale" but enthusiastic/helpful owners with access to the equipment to do it?

Others have stripped off the paint and polished/lacquered the existing bezels scratchchin

Or (from my "little black book") you could try Greengauges

Leigh on the wedge forum is making a batch at the moment. Post a thread up on there. Nothing to do with me but he makes some great bits and pieces.

As far as I know the S and Grimm's (Griff / Chim) use a standard Bezel that clips on to the Gauges these should be available from the Gauge supplier, or 3rd party supplier.

I Made the wedge ones as the Gauge is behind a Fascia so needed a 2nd bezel to sit on the Fascia to make them visible, no one was supplying these, hence why I started to make them.

Due to small demand these are made manually for each one, so work out a lot more expensive than a mass-produced.

I'm willing to make them if I'm wrong about them being available, but last time this was looked into they was. I would also need one of each size of gauge, so I could make exact measurements and make sure they fit.

Regards
Leigh

Thanks Leigh, I have contacted a couple of gauge suppliers and they say they haven’t heard of chrome bezel that just fits over the existing. Apparently they need to be rolled on?

They seem to be quite a challenge to track down, so unless anyone knows of an off the shelf supplier, I might need to consider manufacture?

It’s proving pretty impossible to track anyone who does the chrome bezels.

Leigh - would you consider a cost to manufacture?

Is it chrome or polished alluminium you're after, or not too fussed so long as its shiny?

Have you had a search through all the old posts on this subject?..... clicky here

Unfortunately some of the suppliers referred to are no longer in business and some of the links no longer work but something useful might be there somewhere!

Not fussed on Ali or chrome.

Exhausted all old streams/links, and even called a few companies, but nothing.

May need to look at removing existing and doing a respray, but would rather fit something over existing.

The Wedge ones are polished 6082T aluminum seems to keep its shine for a few years and can quickly brightened with some autosol if needed.

As pointed out they are clipped on, so would need at least one of each to take exact measurements, as they would need to be quite an exact fit.

Also to spread the R&D costs would need a few people interested.

but are you 100% none of these would work, ??

NP,
Let me know the outcome, as said Im happy to make but pointless is they are available off the shelf as they will be mass produced and hence cheaper.

Ok so managed to get 2 to fit the speedo and rev counter dials, but no luck with the smaller 5 gauge dials and clock. (Which is slightly larger)

Guess it's all about cost and whether is worth your while making them?

Biggest problem is the development time, they are quite easy make once I get the all the sizes and process right, but this can take several days, so would make them very expensive if it was just for 5.
