Aston Martin Vantage: Pic of the Week

The review embargo lifts next week, so here's your desktop preview!

Yep, the wait is very nearly over. After the motor show reveal, the ice drive, the prototype drive and the endless hours spent on the configurator, the first drive verdicts on Aston's new Vantage will be published next week. PH has one, of course, and the car is... well, you can discover all that on Wednesday!

To mark the Vantage's imminent arrival into the world of 911s, R8s and AMG GTs, we're offering not just one, but two desktop wallpapers this Friday. Both were shot on location in Portugal, with one capturing the DB10-esque front and the other focusing on its dramatic, unmistakeable posterior. Are you sold on the looks? For what it's worth the car, to our eyes at least, looks even more exotic and purposeful in the metal than on a screen. Even if it is a 4K screen.

As for what the rest of the car is like, you'll just have to hold on a few more days. But rest assured, there is plenty to talk about. Hopefully the wallpapers can suffice until the 11th!

Back much better than the front. Looks like the numberplate is set too low and not straight as well!

They would improve the looks dramatically by fitting the traditional Aston grille - maybe a job for the facelift...

Did they use the same styling house as the new MX5 for the front?

You are spot on with this. It's so squinty and unsatisfying. The 'old' Vanquish was such a stunningly beautiful thing that it's hard to look at this new Vantage. ):

Seen a couple in person now, one in the mad flourecsent yellow colour. The front end looks so much better in real life than it does in pictures somehow.

Does this months evo mag (already out for a week or so) not already have a review of it?

I have a copy at home with the vantage on the front, just not read it yet.
