Is it any easier.....
Discussion
I think that putting the original roof panel into any other TVR is easier than putting the roof panel into a Griff.
On the plus side if you can fit the standard roof panel into the Griff without too much swearing, you are 99% of the way towards being able to fit an elephant into a matchbox.

Didn't someone ask this same question recently?
Not quite the same, but similar:https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Putting the roof in the Tuscan convertible is significantly easier than the Griff, plus, you still have loads of room in the boot for traveling (since the roof in the vert sits on the top, just under the boot lid).
Its not easier if you have the boot re-carpeted to match the car throughout. brownspeed said:
I suppose it depends on your dexterity. I find stowing the Tamora roof panel easy (and i'm a short-arse). how it compares to a griff tho'- I have no idea.
if this is a consideration on whether to buy one or not- it isn't a deal breaker.
I found the Tamora roof much more difficult than the Griff. In the latter, I just needed to get the 'tip angle' correct before it went in, whereas the Tamora I had to get the tip angle correct but also I had to align the bottom to fit into the groove in the floor. I remember when I first collected the car; me and my wife drove a mile to the sea-front and decided to put the roof in the back. The couple drinking tea in their car behind us must've had a right laugh watching me spin, tilt, flip, twist the bloody thing before getting the manual out (the latter being the most embarrassing!) if this is a consideration on whether to buy one or not- it isn't a deal breaker.
Mine is also always stowed in a bag (for protection) before it goes in, which makes it a tighter fit. I've managed to commit the correct orientation to my aging memory.
of course this also adds an additional step to the installation sequence (much to the amusement of everyone around me on the A55 during a recent flash storm!!)

Does the Tamora need to have the roof put in a bag before putting it in the boot?
Any TVR's roof panel will benefit from being protected whilst in the boot, but I would say that ........ panel bagsphillpot said:

yes but the Chim goes in mohair towards back of car so in my experience doesn't need it while the Griff goes mohair to petrol tank so needs the bag and it's a complete pain in the arse
It's not and actually quite straight forward. Don't know why people find it complicated.Jobster said:

It's not and actually quite straight forward. Don't know why people find it complicated.Only empirical data from many conversations, but some (I think it was pre-cat) Griffs have a little more room in the boot than later cars. Never did bottom it out to petrol tank change or anything solid.
Just some commented "don't know what the problem is..." and some say "its a nightmare and don't even think about having the spare in the car behind the roof" - is that spectrum of experience all just about technique?!
