New garage getting built for my 1988 Wedge 350i and 2005 Tuscan S ( under cover in photo).

Concrete base poured last week, now for a 6m x 5m cartlodge style garage to be installed next month.

Nicely done, don't forget the fridge for chilled beers while you work on the cars

Looks good. I'm planning something similar next year. Would be interested in costs overall together with what you chose if you're happy to share.

I don't have a clue how to use a spanner, so not too much work being done on the cars by me.

Cost of concrete base £3,250. Cartlodge style double garage estimate £12,000.

Similar problem here-too many cars that need to be indoors. Going down the route of a 4 bay oak framed (12.5m x 6.8m, hopefully, if I get planning approval) with reclaimed clay roof tiles with lifts internally in 3 bays (2 x 4 post, 1 x 2 post) but costing almost 4x your spend. Was looking at brick but costs are so high and we've got loads of other work on the house needs doing.

Excellent thread! Just about to look to build a 2 bay timber framed cart lodge. So all info posted on here is much appreciated.

I already have a concrete base in place and permission to build a 6m by 5m cart lodge but was just gearing up to start getting quotes. Is 12k about ballpark for a 2 bay?

Just checked the plans and mines 12.8m x 7.2 but around £55k, which I didn't think was too bad - includes base, delivery, supply, install and roof tiles. 4 bays, so 2 x 4 post and 1 x 2 post with additional shed space plus loads of space all along the back.

Yes about right. Mine should be circa £11K including guttering and electrics and 2 pairs of garage doors. 5.8m long x 5.0m wide. Concrete base was £3K.

Mines 5.65 x 5.65 outside (5.45 x 5.45m inside = 30 sq. m. floor area
Eaves height 2.4m.(intend to panel it out so full height boards and contemplating a lift so roof structure has a pair of central ridge members and rafters from them to the eaves rather than bought in trusses.
Costs
Excavation by me so free
150mm base, power floated £2500
Garage £6600
Panelling TBC
Electrics £650
Kerbing and retaining (sleepers) £250
Gravel to drive TBC

Nearly there. Doors, guttering, windows and electrics to do.

Matt - Thanks. Long time no see.

Flipflop - How many cars do you have ? We met briefly at the Silverstone classic a couple of years ago.

10 at the minute, so too many. There's only the 2 of us and new Griff on its way.
Planning lady coming round shortly so hopefully we don't get knocked back to 3 or even 2 bays, otherwise not really gaining much benefit.

you should look at getting a 2 post lift - have them both in one side and one of the other cars!
