Looking way too wide for our engine bays. Pity that.

Just got LT4 and then fit a larger supercharger. Don’t think there is much difference internally. On thing it has is a bigger blower (and intercoolers) and port injection. Both of these can be added to an LT4, if it’s needed at all!

One thing to think about inns Ultima is all these superchargers are front fed. AB’s new intake for the LT4 looks pretty restricting to me!

Now these engines respond REALLY well to turbos.... wink

Chris, someone asked AB about the intake on their FB page, they answered saying it’s actually an enhancement, which is on par with most things they do.

Really? An improvement to a much softer turn like on the corvette or an even softer turn on the ZL1? How much power are they picking up over ‘stock’? A decent aftermarket intake on the corvette will pickup 40-50bhp!

I would love to see some data to back up the AB statement. Power runs would be ideal!

Which one?

Halltech are claiming it on a Z06 (although they use the brake duct to help). Bit a quick google all shows decent gains from the WeaponX intake on the ZL1.

Just to confirm I never said the AB product won’t work! Just it looks really tight and PD blowers hate inlet restrictions. I’m sure they have done all the maths and have the flow data to back it up!

I have an all alloy, Gen 3, 426 hemi in my garage on an engine stand ready to go into my 69 Barracuda notch back. Cool motor, Not very scientific but at the widest point on each which is the outside edge of the valve cover, the Hemi is 5 inches wider. Not an issue going into an engine bay that could hold a 440 big block back in the day, but good luck on a Ultima. Also cost is a huge issue, I could by 1.5 LS7s for the cost of my unblown Hemi. MOPAR has a real attitude about its parts. I can't imagine what they want for the new motor. Lee

Lee, yeahnheard the Dodge stuff is expensive! I heard the 700bhp hellcat engine (named the hellcrat?) was around 20k but that’s an iron block I think! This is a ally block, a stoker kit and a 3.0 (what supercharger is this? Whipple gen5??)! Guessing 30k minimum!

I’d say that’s cheap!

Obviously you could get an lsa to that power for less, but a factory crate engine st that power? Bargain
