The PHer's Petrolicious: Time for Tea?

It's not hard to see why this forum member's E30 M3 caught the eye of the fantastic film makers...

Having been a member for nearly nine years - and having contributed almost 11,500 posts in that time - it's fair to say that Mark Brown is a committed PHer. Back in 2014 his beloved E30 M3 was featured on the site in his own Carpool story, but now it's caught the eye of the film makers at Petrolicious, who have given it even more of the attention it deserves.

As the video details, Mark's attachment to the car goes beyond its status as a driving great and into its role in his rehabilitation from a debilitating accident. It's a passion which can be seen not just in the carefully chosen modifications he has made to the car - just look at those wheels and bonnet mounted lamps(!) - but also the way he talks about it.

Mark regularly travels from Cornwall for Sunday Services, but should you not have had a chance to catch him or his celebrity car yet, he'll be at our upcoming Silverstone event as well as our final Sunday Service of the year, appropriately set to be held at BMW HQ in December. So all that remains is to say congratulations to e30m3Mark, we look forward to seeing him, and you, soon!

I watched that yesterday - such a nice video - car and his story .

Do remember seeing pics of it in a thread a while ago and info about the rebuild.

I do like cars and owners with a story to tell. Petrolicious often seem to hit the nail on the head with these films.

My Mrs wants to know why it says The rapist on their thumbnail though? smile

Thanks for the kind remarks. Sadly I'm in hospital and my health has dipped of late. As a result I may be parting ways with the M3. I'll be genuinely gutted to see it go though.

Having read your contributions and seen the car on PH as a long-time lurker, long before finally registering an account on here, I was sorry to see it advertised for sale earlier today and sorrier still to read the reason that you are parting ways with it. The video is a fitting tribute. I wish you well, and thanks for giving the likes of me something to enjoy viewing and reading over the years.

I’ve followed your thread for a while Mark, after all you’ve been through with the car I hope there is a solution that would enable you to keep the car.

Best wishes for your health going forward.

Also sad to hear you are not feeling well Mark. I liked the video, up until the point where you gunned it pulling away from your drive...after that I loved the video.

Get well soon...

Fabulous car being used properly - what's not to like?

Hope you get to keep enjoying it Mark - the more I see E30s, the more I think they are the definitive BMW - I like everything about them (I'd even miss the original dash - I love older BMW dashes!)

That Irish plate tho - man I hate those - was a sure-fire sign of a replica 'in the day' ;0

That looks all kinds of awesome with the bonnet pod on there - I remember the main beam being pretty crap on my E30, always thought that was because I had HIDs in the original projectors, they were mega.

Even though it's red I'd be well tempted if this came up for sale. Go nicely with my E46 M3 smile
