I know my car is not a TVR but thought that I'd post here as many of you would be running Rover V8 engines.

I'm running a 3.5 rover V8 with just a rear silencer ( I think its from some Volvo turbo ) for the kid in me I have an electronic exhaust cut out so I can run full V8 sound loud when I want to.

Now the question. The rear box is starting to rust so I'm looking around for a replacement. It's a single 2.25" in with twin out which is the format I'd like to keep but I want a deeper more basey sound like I've heard on some TVR's and other cars running the V8. I don't want it too loud I have the cut out valve for that.

Any recommendataions? I've seen "Hornet" or Cherry Bomb single out if this is the best.

Thanks

Rob

Hola

I could be wrong here but i believe the distictive tvr v8 sound is down to the exhaust manifold design and not the back box.

When i was yonger a friend has a sd1 with straight through very antisocial but kind of cool.. he also had 2 cyl fiat 126 that he made sound like a harley awesone.

Mines like a straight through with the exhaust cut out open but I can close it with a switch in the car for normal social driving

Possibly you need to fit 2 centre type silencers to give the nice low hum of the v8 without any higher pitch noise.

IMHO the best sounding TVR exhaust is the cherry bomb version and would be very easy to do.
