PH Gallery: October supercar spotting

The end of summer had no effect on the amount of exotica gracing the capital's streets

The end of summer was just as fruitful as the beginning when it came to spotting supercars on the streets of London. Armed only with a camera, PH headed back into the city to try and track down the fastest and most valuable cars on the planet, which so often can be found hiding in and around our capital.

So, what did we find? Certainly no shortage of Ferrari 458s, 488s or Lamborghini Aventadors, and the likes. It's always exciting to see a supercar of any kind, but we could hardly get away with making an album featuring 20 different coloured Aventadors, could we? On the subject of Lambos, you'll notice there's a Urus in today's gallery - the first feature in one of these albums. After spending some time in the photographed car it became apparent a brash SUV can turn heads at least as effectively as a Chiron or LaFerrari. Everyone and their mum wanted a picture!

Turning things up a notch, we saw a fantastic 930 Porsche 911 Speedster in Mayfair with green bodywork and green wheels, a scheme that worked well on it. Elsewhere, a Guards Red 918 and white Carrera GT were spotted, both from the Middle East, and even the current generation 991 GT3, GT3RS and GT2RS were seen posing together.

One of the quirkier cars we came across was a green Aston Martin GT8. This one featured AMR green stripes, no rear wing, and the front yellow lamps from the 24h Vantage race car. But even a car as cool as this is somewhat overshadowed - in terms of presence in the city - when we consider the outrageously expensive hypercars we've seen in the past two months. A LaFerrari Aperta filling up with fuel, a grey and orange Lamborghini Centenario Roadster, the one-of-one Pagani Zonda 760 Riviera driving around Mayfair at 2am, and a Bugatti Chiron at a hand car wash on Edgeware Road all fitted that bill nicely.

Summer may be a distant memory but, as we know, London is always full of automotive surprises. We will, of course, keep looking for them in the coming, colder weeks and months, so keep an eye out for PH's future galleries. In the meantime, feel free to show us in the comments anything interesting you've spotted, no matter the location!

Agreed, 288GTO looks great. However I didn’t think it was possible to register LHD cars in Australia?
