New track-focussed Pagani spied

Official Huayra production may have ended, but at least one mysterious new iteration remains in the pipeline...

Remember how Pagani refused to let the Zonda go, turning out one-off, limited-run and final edition versions of the car for years beyond its official sell-by date? Well, despite the Huayra's production run of 100 cars having come to an end last year with the 'L'Ultimo', it looks like Pagani may not be done with it quite yet either.

These images posted to Instagram seem to show something more akin to the Zonda R, a circuit-focussed edition with a raft of prominent aerodynamic changes. These include the usual enormous splitter, side skirt and rear wing combo, joined here by an LMP-style central fin and a rear diffuser worthy of any racer. While the Zonda was track-only, though, the Huayra appears to be road legal.

Of course, the car seen here may simply be yet another bespoke creation for one of Pagani's many deep-pocketed customers, but however many end up being produced, it looks like being quite the machine. Hopefully we won't have long to wait to find out, we're already expecting a topless follow up to the Huayra BC at this year's Geneva show, where we'll likely find out more about this mystery machine too. One thing's for sure, though, if Pagani stays true to form there will no doubt be many more examples of its AMG V12-powered hypercar still to come.

As a part of a driving holiday last year a few friends and I took a detour to Modena (And the surrounding area) to look round some of the museums there. We were too late to book a tour of the Pagani factory, but when we arrived at the museum, we whimpered and whined and they actually put on another unscheduled tour for us - thank you Anna Ferrari! You couldn't make it up. smile

One of the most amazing places I've ever been. The factory is incredible and modeled on an old Italian town including ornate street lamps and a clock tower. This, with some of the most incredible cars in the world being assembled. They even had Horacio's Carerra GT there at the time. cloud9

I'm pleased they've done a track version after all those slow Paganis in non-track guise keep holding me up everywhere I go... biggrin

I can't see it. Is it behind the trees or something?

Since you raised the subject, focussed is the correct English spelling. Focused is the American spelling. You're welcome.

As much as the new factory is lovely and impressive, have been twice, the old one (still used as offices just round the corner) was far more personal and less sterile. The last time we visited the old one they were repairing Horacios Porsche GT using in house carbon fibre, understandably the new tour and factory is allot more 'look don't touch' than the old one also. Still a great day trip out from Maranello, if you haven't been try and get to the Lambo factory tour and museum - really impressive!

That rear diffusor looks like it was part of some industrial sorting machine. Crazy. Anyway; Hope they've started development of the follow up model to the Huayra.

This https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfz1YupT82o is the only Pagani Huayra id want, after a total redesign he nailed it, beautiful art. This one and the Zonda 760 RS Roadster are his best imo clap

The rest of the Huayra's are just ok to meh, to me.

Interested to see this new one though. And whatever he creates in the future.
