Sunday Service MINI Oxford review

The visitor centre supplied the breakfast vans, you supplied the love

Sunday Service number seven is now done and dusted, an event which served as a firm reminder that Summer is most definitely over, multiple layers of clothing and hot drinks now mandatory aids to walking around a car park. But even for those of us who hadn't worn enough jumpers, it still proved to be a fantastic morning at the famous MINI Visitor Centre in Oxford!

Trundling into the huge car park to be greeted by two Citroen H vans serving tea, coffee and delicious breakfast baps made for a satisfying start to the day. And that was before PHers even started arriving, in typically diverse fashion, with everything from a Lamborghini Huracan Performante (heard from a long way away) and Gallardo Superleggera, to a new Suzuki Jimny a Smart Crossblade among our favourites. Plenty of MINIs came out to play, too, the sheer amount of GPs from both generations was astounding - we must have had a solid percentage of UK MINI GPs with us yesterday.

Even the more 'normal' (used in the loosest sense possible) cars were fantastic; one of the only Opel GTs in the UK, an absolutely stunning BMW E30 M3 with an E60 M5 V10 conversion, an Ariel Atom with a reported 350hp, a plethora of gorgeous Lotuses in various flavours, and much, much more.

The car park wasn't home to all of the action though, as the MINI Museum was open for everyone to wander through. A brilliant 1914 Bullnose Morris, various special Austin Minis, a stunt MINI used in the most recent Italian Job film and a display of their more modern offerings being highlights there.

All in all a very fun morning indeed, then. We'd like to send a huge thank you to MINI for having us, and also to all the PHers who came along. Our next Sunday Service is to be announced very soon - keep your eyes peeled!

Thanks for organising it.

The E30 with the V10 was something else. Top work.
