20 years of Falken at N24 | Time for Lunch

Yep, lunch. Rest assured though, it's worth it...

To mark the passing of two decades of motorsport at the illustrious Nurburgring 24 Hours, Falken has compiled 20 brilliant stories into a beautifully shot video that tells its own remarkable story of the Green Hell. The N24 is known the world over for its unpredictability, varying conditions and unforgiving high-speed sections. It’s the circuit most drivers fear. Sure, barriers have been pushed back, bumps have been shaved and crash structures are stronger. But this is still a high-speed race through a dense forest – one filled with well over 100,000 of the world’s most enthusiastic fans.

The guaranteed challenge of N24 racing makes Falken Motorsports’ continued entry into the event all the more commendable. The team may not have the budget or scale of manufacturer-backed squads, but Falken has consistently punched above its weight, with a lineage of turquoise cars – including flame-spitting Toyota Supras and Nissan GT-Rs, 911s and BMW M6s – providing fans with competitive underdogs to get behind. The driver line-up is far from a small outfit, mind, with DTM superstar Roland Asch and Green Hell expert Peter Dumbreck among the Falken legends.

Believe us, every second of this 41-minute video is brilliant, with a mix of old and brand new, 4K footage displaying nineties GT2 exotica, jumping DTM cars and breath-taking onboard footage. We could list a hundred reasons why you should dedicate you lunch hour to Falken’s production but the video is more than capable of doing the talking. Headphones on, volume up and sandwiches at the ready. Happy lunchtime.

I was lucky enough to have N24 Hospitality with Falken in 2001. It was excellent although most of the pictures cannot be published for legal reasons.
