Diesel Volvo Tuning

I'm looking at upgrading the power from our diesel V50. Does anyone know the company www.volvotuninguk.com they look good and are in my rough area. Anyone know of alternatives. What the are quoting for the remap is quite expensive at £590 but the figures should make it as quick as a T5 nearly.

Anythoughts, I'm not over keen on the module route though, based in Derby.

If its a Rico map then it should be fine. The BSR maps I tend not to like based on experience of their Saab maps.

Either way its a Diesel so you've not exactly got to worry about it detonating

They seem to get good comments in t5 cirles (www.volvot5.co.uk) - RICA seems to be reliable enough.

Have you considered the BBR PPC? You can do this at home and remove the remap when car goes in for service etc (though I understand the RICA is undetectable by Volvo dealers anyway)

Er, its the diesel isnt it? If so then its pretty much the same (if not exactly the same) as the Ford / Jag 2.0 turbo diesel model. So should be very easy to tune and capable of making some pretty good headline figures.

Doesnt need to be a Volvo specialist I think. Worth checking out if it has a bespoke ECU map for the Volvo though. Superchips?

Having it done tommorrow should take it to 180bhp and 360nm which is more than the T4 great.

Hope all will be well but it should be a good Q car, will report once done.

I'm thinking of having my D5 done and they quote 210hp & 460Nm!

Do it. My D5 is upto 195bhp and is the performance once rolling is enough to embarass semi-exotica.

Hi Fish, I'd love to hear your views on the results and the company as I'm in the same boat with the wifes XC90 D5.

Out of interest what made you select these guys rather than the usual Superchips option?

I selected them rather than superchips etc as they are currently the only place in the UK that can chip a V50 and they've only done 4. They seem to specialise in Volvos.

For something like the D5 engine I would just go with who is the easyist and most convenient although they really seemed to know what they are talking about. The car definately goes alot better and I am allowed free re chips as and when the map inproves.

The D5 apparently is quite powerful now and well above their quoted figures.

I was about to reply that the origional company (HLM Motorsport) dont have a good reputation and I have been advised to avoid them in the past.
