Just got my renewal in from Manning for the T350.They tell me,that owing to an increase in claims experience ( by the underwriters) ; my insurance for the next year is going up 10%.
Just wondering what others are finding?
Simon.

My Mannings premium went up too. By approx 10%.

From the e-mail;
‘Unfortunately, underwriters have increased the rates under our scheme due to a large number of claims during the last year, despite lockdown’

Insurance companies will be insurance companies, there are no good ones, they are all sharks and weasels and will do anything to squeeze any extra they can from you. They know most of us won’t bother spending an hour of our day shopping around for the sake of £50.

Isn't this the standard excuse every year that all premiums have gone up, that strangely reduce when you say you'll go elsewhere

I was with Mannings for years, then the renewal was a bigish hike.

Got several other quotes, ended up returning to Classicline who I'd been with before. Been with CL now for at least 5 years.

Not wishing to teach my grandmother etc, but check how many miles you are insuring for. Dropping the miles to a more accurate/sensible estimate can make a significant difference to the premium.

Renewals for all 4 of our cars went down, but, only as the result of a call to the insurer complaining about the increase.

My footman James one nearly doubled in price, Manning's wanted the same but then started phoning me saying they could do it cheaper. Sod the lot of them, I've managed to insure it for personal and commuting to work, no limited mileage without any no claims bonus with a meerkat for half what they were asking. It is only £10k worth of chimp though hehe

Forgot to add that my policy gets zero no claims bonus. So I wont be renewing with them so I can carry over my previous no claims bonus. If going with FJ, do read the small print.

A quick Meerkat and Welsh Tenor check and can get it a lot cheaper but having been messed around by one of those insurers previously, not too keen.

You are an idiot/lazy/have more money than sense, if you don't shop around at renewal time. Most Classic car companies wanted at least double what I ended up paying with LV for my Tuscan.

Well that's one way to recover lost income from the lockdown, but 10% is way above inflation and taking the p***. I've been with Manning for 18 years ........maybe time to change

Trustpilot is not for everyone. But AIB recommend Markerstudy Insurance.

If we don’t shop around insurance and other companies will continue to rack up price increases relying on customer inertia.

I always shop around including alternating between RAC & AA annually to benefit from the new customer discount.

Use the saving to pay for a title celebration - if Nicola Krankie will let you. smile
