Can i trace a phone number?

I just got an abusive answer machine message from a landline in the Wigan area from someone who knows my name.
Five minutes later i got an accidental call from the guys mobile, which he hung up when he realised
Is there a way to find out who owns either number? I will probably phone it back tomorrow for s
ts and giggles anyway..
I don't have any real enemies so this is likely just just be a drunken prank by someone i no longer speak to..they must miss me!

If it was an abusive message, call up BT and ask for the number to be blocked - they won't give you details about who it was, but at least you won't have it again. It was two guys trying to sound scary, and not doing very well!
The first one (southern shandy drinker)kept calling me a cock in various different ways and then the other one (Northern Monkey) took over and tried to be a bit more scary..

A) Learn to read and understand he actually doesn't give a toss and just wants to find out how to trace who it is.
B) Stop trolling by acting thick and read before you post a response, quality not quantity
C) Tell us which previously banned member you are.

That's the best advice, google to begin with and then maybe fill in lots and lots of online forms using both numbers as contacts. They'll enjoy getting calls from Ramjit trying to sell them a mobile phone contract/conservatory/house insurance every 5 mins!G Man said:
