Ford Keeps The Chequered Flag Flying
Zetec S trim revealed
It’s pretty showy, but there’s no extra go for the latest ‘sporty’ model to grace the Focus line-up.
Still, there’ll probably be no shortage of takers for the racy looking Zetec S range now available at your local Ford dealer. With a full styling kit of front and rear spoilers and sill extensions, plus natty 17ins wheels, the standard Zetec S doesn’t actually look that bad. The trouble starts when you specify the optional £200 WRC pack that includes a
chequered flag graphic wrapped around the Focus’s flanks...The ‘S’ package starts at £750 above each equivalent standard Focus Zetec derivative – and you can fly the Ford flag in anything from the 115PS petrol 1.6, to the mighty 145PS 2.0 version. Whoa boys!

And Ford are saying their strapped for cash? No wonder when they spend millions on pointless st like this. Sod this for a special edition, get the Focus RS on sale, with a proper special edition option of matt black with gun metal wheels. Now there's a car worth buying...
Eh?I am pretty sure this will cost bugger all for Ford - not the most difficult thing to develop I would have thought..
Will the RS make Ford money? I hope so, but I doubt it.
what a car. well guys im pleased to say ive got my name on 1 of the 1st 58reg focus zetec s, ive chosen the 1.6 vct in sea grey. To my advantage the guy in the showroom said its the first 1 in the uk, its in belguim at the moment and will be built by the 31st of this month, its in the colour i requested, with all the trimmings that i asked for so i put my name on that 1. there are two more in france apparently but not on the road yet.
im so excited as these are the first pics ive seen off it as there were none available on fords website. it dosent have all the decals but she has race pedals, handbrake and front seats, bluetooth connection, voice activation, 17 inch 8 spoke alloys, tic toc gray interior, the new variable cam timing with increased throttle response. The new gear box by duratec (i believe) has a great reveiw, they have combined the manual box with the auto technology which has improved gear change dramaticly as it does not disturb the drive of the engine whilst going through the gears.
i managed to get into a focus titanium just to have a rough idea of what it will be like and it felt great once i dropped that seat to the floor and took the steering wheel as loww as it would go. oh well for now i have to count the day till i get her, estimated date 15th nov 08. BRING IT ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
