They've just totally ripped off the styling from the SEAT Tango concept car. The headlights look just like those from the SEAT Bolero concept from a couple of years back as well, like those on the current Leon.

Not pretty, and I certainly don't like the idea of a glowing badge.

“... we are showing off a car the world has never seen – a stirring, open-air roadster that is an equal mix of fun and function...”
I would certainly like to know what world they've been living on then!

The glowing badge is hardly an innovation either - anyone remember the old Riley's?

From what I can see the whole thing is more of a 60's european design wearing a fancy new suit (mutton dressed as lamb?)

GM is in trouble. saturn is a money-loser for GM, and unless they start developing new, exciting prospects, they're going to go the way of olds. Lutz is backing the solstice, from what I've heard, which would be in direct competition with the sky. pontiac is doing fine, people are buying grand ams, but man, this is an important car for saturn, and it needs to see the light of day unless gm wants to keep cutting down its foundations until all that is left is chevrolet and gmc. saturn should be in charge of small cars for gm. Their dealer network and appealing low-end image is ruined by the quality of their cars, whereas people who walk into a chevy dealership to see a corvette generally are impala people, not malibu buyers. I say, the sky is the limit.

I quite like it...though totally agree with pipsqueek that its a 100% rip-off of the Tango.

Why not a glowing badge? sounds cool!! (or really, really nasty)....hmm...I tik my lack of taste is beginning to show again!

good news for a friend of mine who is considering importing euro sports cars to the US!

Personally I like the sky concept, i don't care if it's a rip-off or not. The s/c is a great idea and very appealing for the younger buyers. I hope they actually sell the sky, I would be a buyer!

I personally think it's quite the looker, you all have the benefit of sweet looking rides over there in the UK and Europe, but if your from North America, we have all these drab autos that don't look anything like the concepts they are suppost to represent. I mean, where has all the style gone, and creativity? Ha, I think GM and Ford, both better start producing these little hot rods, it's getting too late in the game not to. Japan is taking over the small car North American market.

I THINK THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL CAR. I REALLY DID NOT CATCH THIS PRICE, BUT IT'S NICE. THERE IS ONLY ONE PROBLEM, WE NEED MORE HORSEPOWER. IF YOU WANT IT TO COMPETE, GIVE US A 'RUN' FOR OUR MONEY1

Whoever came up with the center guage pod is a real joker. This idea is so ludicrous I refuse to even glance at this concept Sky, and even the Vue. If they keep these ideas going they are guarenteed to go junk yard style. The bst car Ive seen by Saturn is the S series, and thats not even to other GM standards. Saturns got to really step up in the game in order to catch eyes.

If you want to argue this point with me you can catch me on AIM at CorMoRServer.

This is an outdated article. You can see the pictures of the new Saturn Sky at www.skyroadster.com/photopost

There are forums at www.skyroadster.com/forums as well.

Hi,

Some of these remarks are totally unfair to GM. It's quite obvious those negative remarks about the Sky or any other GM vehicles comes from individuals who know very little about cars. When it comes to technology, GM is the front runner. We all know the Japanese are great copiers. It is true GM have had quality and styling problems but not anymore. Check on their quality from "J D Power" and you will see it is among the best. As for the Sky and the Solstice car as being not a good looking car with poor engineering, you've got to be kidding. They can't make enough and people are paying much more than sticker price. I don't see that happening with the Miata!
Please just be fair!!

Nice troll, but I won't bite.

This is not the current Sky concept though, the current one is much better looking, and is basically the Vauxhall VX Lightning concept of a few years back...
