greetings everyone, some advice ideas please....
i have a 993 roof rack, which i bought to replace my thule version. the new rack is from porsche so is a perfect fit (the back part of the rack is higher to take in to account the slope of the roof) it is perfect nick but it wont fit my ski rack.
so does anyone know where i could get a ski rack that will fit an official porsche rack as if i cant find one i will have to sell it and continue to use my thule one.
obviously it will take a box or a different attachments like bikes etc, i paid £200 for it so if i cant find one and someone would like one then i will happily pass it on for what i got it for.

I had OE one with the ski fittings. All you need to do is buy the Thules T fitting attachments and a larger square nut to fit in the heckle track.
I had to do this for 2 thule bike racks when my Corrado was hit just before my holiday. The 3.2 took the bikes no problem and they stayed on at very high speed!

Porsche still list a ski holder unit for their 993 roof transport systems
00004400004 £40.00 inc vat ,
different part numbers for later cars but should have the same sort of fixing .
996 type 99680109100 £40.00 inc vat
997 , cayman , cayenne type 95504400023 £80.00 inc vat
Not to sure about the 993 main bar design but i know the later cars roof racks have a
groove that once the lockable end is open a t-bolt or fixing that is attached to the
ski holder/roof box/ bake rack can be slid down .

Hi, thought I'd reply over here on good ole PH as the other forum has heated up with this roof rack!, Had left a post as the thread was quiet and now there seems to be interest, anyway if your still selling it give us a shout as theres no way the bike is getting in the back and may have to look at going down the thule option.

An old thread I know but posting because I am looking for a fitting manual/instructions for an official 993 roof rack. Has anyone got one they could scan or know where I could download one.
Also, anyone want to buy a 993 rack?
Finally, I've had a mountain bike in the back of 993, agreed, easy. Also had 2 road bikes in my 993! Now that was a bit tight.
