Hello,
After spending some time on the net, I can't find where one would purchase a second hand replica of DBR2 or DBR3. Are they that rare Im going to find it a struggle as most companies only produce a handful per year?
Regards
Ian
I'm not aware of any company making replicas (apart from that one below). There was a DB3S replica using BMW running gear called a BAM 3S, but I've never found a website for them. After spending some time on the net, I can't find where one would purchase a second hand replica of DBR2 or DBR3. The replicas that do exist tend to be made from Astons themselves (the once cheap DBS was a favourite). And to make a replica, with the right engine will not be cheap I'm afraid

Give Andy Soar a call, if there are any looking for a home I'm sure he'd know.

Hi,
I am afraid that the only examples I know of for sale at the moment are at a considerable premium to my build prices.
There are a couple of early cars that were built before my involvement for sale in Germany. I think these up for considerably more than a new build. Thos. Thiesen is one dealer I think. Not sure of the where-abouts of the other, it turned up in a Coy's auction last year.
There is another car registered TOJ 1 I think which was listed on a site called Byron International. I think it may be an old listing though.
The last car I supplied may be for sale by the owner with offers over £60000 considered.
Otherwise my build queue is currently about eight months before start.

Andrew Soar.

There is a chap in the AMOC who made this using a DBS as the doner:
Nope, I bought that one from the Bonhams auction at Goodwood a few years back and sold it on a couple of years later. It is one of the cars in Germany.Edited by LoudV8 on Monday 28th September 20:26
I resprayed it and tidied it up (a lot).
This car was, in a very round about way, the prototype for the Andy Soar ones.
If you pm me, I may be able to help put you in touch with someone.

Fabulous car. Not sure what you mean by 'nope', though. I took that pic in June 2005 and spent the evening talking to the chap. The car is listed in the AMOC register as having been created using DBS parts.
Sorry, you are absolutely right in the description. What I meant by the "nope" was that that particular car is not for sale at a sensible price - last seen in Germany with a dealer at a stupid mark-up - so that doesn't help the OP in finding a car in the short term.and here is another one in Germany.

89990.00 euro's
From the records that I have from ARA days, this would appear to be either the first demonstrator they built or a build for a German customer. Although it is possible that they are one and the same car.
Fitted with 3.4l Jag XK and presumably a moss box.
You may spot that it has 15" wires and wider front track resulting in the need for a higher ride height than my revised running gear that is now fitted.
There are also a few suspension upgrades I would suggest for the rear de dion knowing ARA methods.
Also the bonnet and boot closures are a bit 'after market'
Could still be tidied up to make a nice car but at that price it would not really make sense when a new build would come in considerably under that price.
