Guys & gals

I need a little help here, I'm trying to make a point to my brother about something that happened 15 years ago. What major world events have there been in the last 15 years?

OK, to be more precise I could say what happened in 1995. Things like cost of a Big Mac, who was xmas number one etc etc

Also, on another note Eric I know I still need to give you a bell smile

not much happened in 1995, actually, but its ok because 15 years ago was 1994.

1995 is the key year. It's the last year the person in question won a title. The season ran from Sep 1994 to Jan 1995. So I could either point out things that happened in 1995 (which was when he was crowned champion) or since the start of the season 15 years ago.

But thanks for the maths lesson wink

definitely maybe was released, CD's were about £15 back then.

iirc a can of coke was about 25p and a mars bar around 20p.

first flight of the eurofighter, which speaks volumes about the programme overrun.

Especially considering that the project was launched in 1982!

That seems very cheap to me, but it's a good point none the less! smile

Heat Wave and hose pipe bans in the summer of '95.

As this a car related website, on August 1st you could buy a brand new 'N' Reg car. It was the last year of E34 5 series saloon production. Wasn't also the year that the Fiat Punto was launched?

There was the Oasis vs Blur 'Battle of the Bands' in August. Britpop was king and Pulp finally made it big with 'Common People'.

'Bad Boys' was out in the cinema also.

All of this is from the top of my head, I was 16 in 1995.

You forget - this is the Big Brother generation. These issues are real and important to people who are the products of a moronic education system and who's world centres on celebrity culture rather than real world events.

woohoo

As mentioned it was the year Nick Leeson ruined Barings, there was a huge earthquake in Kobe, Japan and France did nuclear tests in Mururoa. Those just off the top of my head.

I'm not sure how much a Big Mac cost though.

I remember the heatwave
Guy down the road from me had a white Porsche 944 on Teledials, had a targa top, and the seats were black outsides, white and black insides.

Old man had just picked up a brand new Ford Escort Mk4 RS2000

Lipton ice tea was the rage

Bass shandy was 80p a can, much more expensive than normal cans as it was a treat.

Turkish delights were massive, and cost 15p, not tiny and cost 60p, never effected me, always thought they tasted awful, brother loved them though

Aryton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger were killed in may at Imola iirc, (wiki reveals May 1st)

Thats the only thing pertinent that comes to mind
