Anyone Work For Aston Martin?
Discussion
I'm applying for a job with Aston Martin at the moment, and I was wondering if anyone worked for them already? If so, any advice and/or info you could give me about working for them would be very much appreciated!
Many thanks in advance,

You express the opinion on a public forum that a prospective employer is in severe financial difficulty.
You better hope that no-one from AM reads this forum - otherwise your CV (which will be easy to spot) is likely to go straight in the bin, don't you think ?

Anyway, you can learn a lot from working in a company that is going through change to save itself.
Good luck with your application, sounds like a great opportunity.
I'm astonished that someone can turn a genuine request for help and info into something negative - it's the job of my dreams for a company I've always loved, hence I wanted to find out more and do anything I could to help better my chances of getting the role. Yes my name is Dominic, yes I used to live in Berkshire and yes that is my birthday - if anyone from Aston Martin is reading this then hopefully they'll see that I want the job so badly that I'm doing any background research that I can rather than taking offence to the fact that they're not doing as well as they have been in recent years (something which I've written about in my application!).
Many thanks for your help,
Dom

Of course they're in financial difficulty. I'd question the intelligence of any potential employee who hadn't worked that out.

However any employer that only employs people who fawn over them wouldn't be worth working for. The fact that some companies really would chuck your CV in the bin over this shows what creeps work in some HR departments.
How horrible would it be in five years time to realise that you'd transformed from someone who had some integrity to a spineless yes man, smilling and nodding and singing the praises of every lurch towards a corporate cliff edge.

In relation to this though I reckon they'd be doing him a favour by chucking the CV in the bin for such a comment (Who'd want to work for a company that judges people so quickly?)... but yes, you can see the point.
Sometimes the truth hurts - but especially in business it could be exactly what they need to hear in order to survive. I for one would not wish to surround myself with "yes" people and smoke blowers!
