Lost my front towing eye cover after a run out the other day, not covered by warranty & comes unpainted, so as a precaution, may be worth making sure yours is securely attached!

ETA this is for the MK2 RS!

Yeah, true. I did manage to get a headlamp washer cover replaced under warranty, but the car was only 2 weeks old at that point!! biggrin

Well, i am paying for the cover & the dealer offered to paint it FOC so at least thats something! Cant fault them on the service i've had from them. As long as it's a better job than you seem to have had Dave!!

Will be making a modification on it, so it doesn't fall out again!

What's the problem with it? On the side skirts the (stty little) tabs bend in so the cover can come off easily. Honestly a slightly thicker tab would mean no problems, i'm sure it wouldn't cost THAT much. I get the feeling Ford like bits falling off and charging silly money for small bits of (PRIMED-these things used to be painted the right colour!!) plastic.

I think it's the same problem of the tabs being too small, coupled with the firm ride has shook it out! Must say that it always seemed tight in place when washing the car, compared to the wobbly headlamp washer covers!

Finally got my cover today! Part was £4.96 + vat & would have cost £46.95 total if i'd had to pay them to paint it!! yikes
