Maserati GranTurismo By Mansory

German tuner adds a dash of carbon and a splash of colour to Maser's finest

As if one colourful challenge to the mores of good taste and decency wasn't enough for a Friday, PH proudly presents another chance to splutter coffee over your keyboard.

Yep, it's Mansory time again, and as you can see our favourite and most fanciful Fritz fettler has turned his attention to the Maserati GranTurismo.

Admittedly it's not up to the standard of the great man's finest work, which may be considered both a blessing and a disappointment. In fact, this Maser GT could almost pass for tasteful in some company. Er, couldn't it?

The Mansory press release hints at the new approach, containing as it does an adjective we thought they'd never heard of - listen to this: "A newly designed front spoiler with discreet (there - that's the one!) spoiler lip gives the front a significantly more sporty appearance and the carbon fibre radiator grille highlights the famous Maserati trident in the centre of the grille."

The release also draws attention to additional air inlets in the carbon bonnet, deep body sill addenda, carbon boot spoiler and a new rear diffuser. The whole plot is some 30mm closer to the ground thanks to revised suspension, and the wheels are bespoke. Power is increased via a modified ECU and exhaust system, with Mansory claiming 405hp for the GT, and 440hp for the GTS.

The cabin is treated to lots of vibrant leather, a new steering wheel and aluminium pedals, but frankly, the more we look at this car, the more palpable our sense of disappointment. It's just too understated too poke fun at properly.

So have a giggle at this beauty instead. It's a fabulous office chair from the Mansory furniture range that far more ably encapsulates all the best thoughts we have about the brand.

I am going to start a charity, the SPATC.. the Society for Prevention of Automotive Taste Crime.

All we need is for all PH'ers to put in £5 each and when we have enough we buy these monstrosities and return them to how Jebus intended them to be.

Who's in?

I like the red section on top of the door section. Perfect for resting one's arm whilst cruising round Monte Carlo.

Not one bit of this car looks better than the standard car.

Quintessentially classiness and understatement arrange the absolutely new super soft lacquer made by Glasurit which makes the automobile with its deepest shadow black more than magic. Also the complete chrome exterior trims are coming in soften silver.

They've missed a trick the Maser needs snake skin seats, leopard skin floor mats, 22in Chrome Spinners and some of them Pink Neon Lights. Schweeeeet

Either I'll be dragging my knuckles out onto the pitch at Old Trafford by the end of the year, or Mansory have toned down some of their more recent creations to become more aligned to my tastes.

With some more restrained choices from the colour samples, that would look pretty good IMO. Their Ferrari 599 also wasn't too bad.

Their Bentley and Rolls Royce creations are vulgar in the extreme, however so are the standard cars too IMO.

Great that's £10.

Come one people just think how this car will spend it's life, being ridiculed of forums, laughed at when parked outside Chelsea football club, being caught in the background of paparazzi snaps, being driven dangerously over the speed limit by those with more money than driving talent.. come on we can stop it now.

By the power of PH we can make a difference.

Absolutely!
It's not to my taste, but it's better than most of their previous 'efforts'!

That's one for Psued's corner although their grammer is on par with their taste.
Understatement? Understatement my foot.

I think it looks great, and think the name Mansory puts people off at first, perhaps if it didn't read Mansory but instead people thought it was a Maserati special edition etc, they might like it alot more.

The interior is very plush and exotic looking, not some bland, plain, boring eurobox type finished in err black or gray. Same with the exterior and wheels, in the flesh I think it would look amazing.
