Porsche Sunday Service: The Details

17th October sees a sell-out Sunday Service, make sure you read this for further information.

This will be rather busier on the day!
This will be rather busier on the day!
A week on Sunday will see what promises to be our largest Sunday Service yet. We made 700 spaces available to PHers and every single one has been taken - we can only thank you for your overwhelming support.

With 700 cars arriving, we wanted to tell you a little more about the logistics of the day, so if you are one of the fortunate 700, please make sure you read this carefully.

The entire PistonHeads team will be on the gate to welcome you to the centre and, as we will be parking around the Porsche test circuit, it is essential that you follow the directions given to you by the PH team or the Porsche marshals.

Spaces are limited to 700, and we will be checking names at the gate against the list that can be seen attached to the calendar entry. We will have the list printed in alphabetical order using the PH membership name you used to sign up, rather than your position on the list. I must stress that if your name isn't down on the list we will have to ask you to leave the site and return a couple of hours later when free spaces may be available.

As spaces are in high demand, please remove yourself from the calendar if you can no longer attend. Once names have been removed, those on the reserve list will be allocated the free space automatically. If you are on the reserve list on the day of the event, this does not mean that you have a space reserved so please bear this in mind.

The Sunday Service gates will open at 09.00 and will close at 13.00, so there is plenty of time to arrive. If you choose to arrive for 09.00, please bear with us as we try and get everyone parked up as quickly as possible. Your parking spot will be shown to you by a marshal, and to ensure everyone can get in they will show you how to park to ensure the best use of the available space.

For anyone without a reserved space, we ask that you attend later in the day (post 11.00), allowing some time for others to leave. If space is available we will fill it, but we cannot guarantee a space I'm afraid.

Breakfast will be available (charged) in addition to building tours, new Porsche models and some demonstration drives on the low-grip circuit.

Directions: Silverstone circuit will be hosting a race meeting on the day of the Sunday Service, so please note that we will not be entering the site using the circuit entrance as previously suggested. There is clear signposting to the Porsche Experience Centre, and we suggest you follow that to the venue.

Approaching the main circuit entrance from the A43, go straight over the roundabout that you would normally use to turn left to enter the circuit. At the next roundabout take the first exit and follow the signs to Porsche Experience Centre. Again, please do not try to access through the main circuit entrance as you will be turned away.

Feel free to ask any questions on the forums relating to this event, but in the meantime we look forward to meeting you in a week or so's time....remember to be nice to the gate staff, or at least bring them a nice present :).

No worries pal, I was going to suggest removal of our comments to avoid any further confusion. Hope you get it sorted smile

If you register, then alter, edit or change your post you do lose position on the list as it assumes you are a newly registered entrant. This does mean that you have lost the space sadly. So are you saying that you did nothing to your entry when sat at 688? I'll ask Will to check if the post was altered as it shouldn't move on it's own. We'll mail you back through your profile.

Odd that you couldn't email me initially, was that using the link on my profile?

That happened to one of our locals too, she signed up for it and it dissappeared, however she is now 702 on the list, so with any luck a couple will drop out who can't make it

Garlick -thanks for speedy reply - I registered at circa 200 , it appeared , I checked some days later and it had vanished so re-registered and updated at 688 -it appeared ,I checked this am and guess what it had again vanished so re-registered for a third time and hence the reserve list.
I spend lots of time in the US hence thought I would check to be sure but whilst I accept I may have done something stupid - dont think I have - I would be pretty cross if I turned up to find no space when your calender shows me as attending and then it doesnt as normally you wouldnt check !
I tried emailing you from the profile.

Garlick, is it the intention of emailing all those attending with the information too, as I was fortunate to stumble across this confirmation post and think prompting all by email is the best way of ensuring they don't forget, or certainly remove themselves from the list and give someone else a chance if they can no longer make it. Just a thought smile
