E-Types Return To Coventry For 50th Anniversary

Well, to Coventry City FC's Ricoh Arena for a special match day display

We really don't need much of an excuse to post an image of a Jaguar E-Type here on PH, but Jaguar has kindly given us 50 of them (that's excuses, not images).

It being the 50th anniversary of the E-Type this year, Jaguar is to display around 50 examples of the iconic sports car on Saturday 2nd April in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena stadium.

Apparently, there's some sort of sporting event on that day, but while the game against Watford kicks off at 3pm, you can gawp at the E-Types all the way from 11am until 6.30pm. It's almost worth going to a football match for...

Not sure I'd call it the most beautiful car of all time though. Not when there are such things as a DB5, DB9 and a certain Alfa 8c. The E type is up there for sure though.

what about those of us who live just down the road from the Ricoh, but avoid the place like the plague when people are kicking little bags of wind around? Do we really have to go to a sodding football match to see these cars?

Can I just go after the A444 has cleared please? (about 10pm.....)

wink

Granted but you cant deny that the E-type paved the way for cars like the DB9 & 8C... DB5 is ok but DB4 Zagato is FAR more attractive

Like all these things its in the eye of the beholder but the E Type (especially the S1 FHC) has always generally been heralded as the most Beautiful car in the world.

Tis beautiful to me that's for sure but my Wife for example doesn't see it.

DB5 is hardly beautiful....it is a truly handsome car for sure.

DB9/DBS IS the most beautiful car of these times but imagine the E back in 61 amongst all the grey rubbish on the road.
