Ford’s new Focus RS might be gunning for top hot hatch honours around the Nurburgring, but it has lost out in a battle against a man with a jet pack.
The famous ‘Jet Pack Man’ edged out the Focus RS, driven by BTCC driver Gorden Sheddon, in a battle at the Knockhill racing circuit. Jet pack pilot Eric Scott edged out the RS in a short drag race by just over a metre, notching up a top speed of 68mph in the process.
Local police from Fife Constabulary were on hand to use their laser gun to clock the Jet Man’s speed, but he was unable to break his own 75mph record due to the adverse Scottish weather.
