Another nice bit of technology that is being reported on the Nissan GT-R is the car’s ability to remove the speed limiter automatically when you reach a track day.
It is not clear yet whether the near-200mph supercar will have a limiter in place when it arrives in the UK but in Japan it is understood to be reined in at 111mph.
For those who like to take the car to a track (and there will no doubt be a lot of them) the car is able to detect when it reaches a circuit and removes the limiter.
It does this by using a GPS system which knows when you have arrived at a domestic circuit, removing the limiter and allowing you to explore the cars capabilities to the fullest.
Apparently in the US they have limited the car to 156mph, but they haven’t integrated it with the GPS.
This means that anyone who wants to go faster on a track will have to have the ECU modified.
We will have to wait and see what the situation is when the car finally arrives over here.
Last week we brought you news of the GT-R's secret launch control that wouldn't look out of place on a PlayStation game.
