When Koenigsegg last did this- 'this' being the launch of a car to 240mph, and then back to naught, in very little time - we termed it 'barmy'. Because it only took 36 seconds, and therefore it was. Now Koenigsegg has taken five seconds from that time; a time already six seconds ahead of Bugatti's 0-400-0 time with a Chriron.
Now using a Regera, the Koenigsegg team recorded a 31.49-second run with Sonny Persson at the Rada airfield. Sadly there's not the raw (and slightly terrifying) onboard footage often seen in the videos, though that will surely come with time. Certainly there's little doubt about how rapidly the Regera accrues speed, no doubt ably assisted by its Direct Drive transmission.
So bravo Koenigsegg on yet another daft - and wholly brilliant - demonstration of straight line prowess. Ensure to watch right until the end, too - it seems like Koenigsegg has designs on Bugatti's top speed record...
