We all have dream cars; those that would be in the climate-controlled garage come the Euromillions win. But we also know that they are near enough unobtainable, so have realistic fantasy cars as well, those vehicles that we still covet and lust after - but might one day actually be a viable purchase prospect as well.
The Nissan 370Z is exactly that car for PHer 'thatguy11', known to his mother as Lewis. Launched the year he obtained his driving licence, the 370Z has been a car Lewis has hankered after for more than a decade now. And having owned a Celica T-Sport 190 and Golf GTI Mk5 in the past, Lewis has done it: this is his Nissan 370Z.
He didn't do things the easy way, however. Lewis lives in Edinburgh, but the car was for sale down in Bexhill. Unable to view it, he bought an AA inspection; that returned an almost blemish-free report card, with a slightly rusting (yet easily replaceable) exhaust being the biggest problem. So Lewis took the plunge, and bought the car.
One very long, socially distanced train journey and one even longer drive back up north, the 370Z is now taking pride of place at chez Lewis. Fortunately, too, given that this was his dream car, the big Zed is living up to expectations: "It definitely passes the 'turn around to look at it after parking it up' test" was his verdict after just a week. Now it's time to get the Nissan polished up back to its best, fit the stainless-steel exhaust and carry on enjoying the dream car purchase. Nice work Lewis!
