It's the same old story really when it's comes to supercars in London for April; like most months previous, things only seem to be getting better and better as summer draws nearer. A very healthy selection of supercars and classic cars have made appearances on our streets in the past four weeks.
It is nearing the point where in terms of automobiles I'm not sure that there's anything London hasn't or won't see. On the face of it there was no individual stand out, extraordinary spots this month, such as the Centenarios or 250 SWBs of previous months. Then again a Veyron, LaFerrari and 918 were seen parked together in Mayfair, which is certainly not an everyday sight unless you own an oil reserve.
At the more obscure, and arguably more interesting, end of the scale was the Dutch Spyker C8 Spyder; rarely spotted on the road, it has one of the most eye-catching interiors of any supercar. Then Jason Bradbury of The Gadget Show was seen in a Back to the Future style DeLorean, driving around with the doors open. Even more bonkers, and most likely not to everyone's taste, was the Liberty Walk wide body Lamborghini Aventador finished in blue chrome and orange 'TRON' wrap. The Aventador is already an aggressive looking car, right? Well this car, with its wide arches, enormous rear wing, air suspension and exhaust that spits two-metre flames put it on another level entirely.
Other interesting but maybe slightly more reserved cars include the KTM X-Bow, which again is rarely seen in London, Anthony Hamilton's bright blue 675LT Spider and a stunning Ford Mustang GT500E 'Eleanor'. A pair of very nice green Aston Martin DB5s were also seen around, one even parked together with a red and Black Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.
Otherwise it's service as normal: a blue carbon Veyron Super Sport; a 458 Speciale and Speciale Aperta in convoy; a Lava Orange GT3RSs and Ultraviolet GT3RS parked together; and then a few quite nice GTOs, TdFs, SLRs, LTs and any other combination of letters that spells rare, fast and very expensive...
Check back in a month's time for the supercar flavoured fruits of May, and at the time of writing I can already tell you it's going to be a good one!
